Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day. Not in silence today - the washer's on already to get the couple of wash loads there are done & dusted for the weekend.

I'll wake dd2 soon-ish. We're heading into town to finish birthday shopping for dd1, who was a bit put-out that she can't come with us 🤷‍♀️ I need to pick up a couple of other bits too.

When we get back, I want to undo the latest round of the blanket I've started for myself; I realised after spending an hour on it last night that four pairs of stitches are in slightly the wrong place <sigh>. I'll re-do it in front of the tv tonight.

Dd2 has science homework to do but other than that they did everything last night so the rest of the afternoon/evening should be fairly chilled.

I have no idea what's for tea yet. I think we've got pork loin steaks, mince, or sausages left in the freezer. I'll see what the girls say when they're up.

The day started way too early (a 3.5yo and a baby).
Breakfast at 7.30am was porridge with banana and raisins.
Now the firstborn is at his swimming lesson with DH and the baby is napping on me.
Later DH will take him to other activities and I’ll continue to be trapped under the baby.
Dinner will be tuna steaks.

Good morning Lucysmam. I've lurked for a while. It sounds like a productive day for you. I'm on coffee number two looking at the sky which has slowly gone from pink to grey. Today I'll change the bedding and do an ironing. Most of the housework was done yesterday. Later I'm going out for lunch with dd and dgs1. I'm looking forward to it.

Horrible weekend of work (nurse) am dreading it BUT it is my last ever weekend as I have a new job starting in Feb so only 3 shifts left to work. It will cut my 90 round commute down to around 2 miles - I cannot wait work is making me feel very anxious! Have a lovely weekend all x

Morning, I’ve got the house to myself today as DD is away for the weekend. I’m planning to have a pj day, catch up on some housework and school work (teacher) but don’t have too much to do. I’ve already cleaned the kitchen and got the first load of washing on, just sat down and had some marmalade on toast for breakfast. Planning to listen to some podcasts, take delivery of the Tesco shop in a bit and maybe start a new series on Netflix. Any recommendations?

Just settling with my second cuppa. The first was rushed and literally just an injection of caffeine to get me up and get the kids to sports clubs. This one I’m going to enjoy.

Unfortunately I’ve got some work to finish this morning and then I’m going to tackle some much-needed cleaning, laundry and decluttering a huge mound of stuff dumped over the Christmas holiday.

Lasagne for dinner and friends are coming over this evening.

Good morning all. Having a lazy morning watching Andy Murray’s Australian Open match - we are making the most of being able to have a lie in as our puppy arrives in just two weeks! 🐶 Going to do some sorting out in the house this morning then we’re going into town later for some shopping and dinner. It’s still quite icy in places here so I am hoping that thaws out soon, I had to put on my hiking boots just to pop to the shop yesterday afternoon.

I'm not long awake. Dh is snoring away beside me while I catch up on here. Not much planned today need to do a food shop but really got enough in for today so could push it back to tomorrow. I hate food shopping although its more the planning for the week I can't stand!

Dh is away to help the bil move a car this afternoon and I need to see my mum. Ds will probably head out with friends or play on his xbox. I wanted to have a mooch round the charity shops this weekend aswell for a new jigsaw

I have just woken up and currently trapped between the desire to stay warm and cosy in bed, and an increasingly desperate need to wee!

I have no plans today which is lovely after a hectic month. I want to do some work to get ahead on some exciting projects. Then will head out into the glorious (cold) weather for a walk and pick up lunch from a deli.

Need to do some cleaning as have guests staying later this week, my tesco shop comes tonight too. Trying to use less screens so am trying to tech myself to crochet! Will spend my evening with that.

I'm getting up soon to wash my hair. Out at lunchtime to watch the Whitney film with my sister.

There is a birthday in our house next week too, so birthday shopping will have to happen over the weekend.

ATM I'm just out of the shower. DCs are having breakfast. DH is pottering about. I need to take something to an Evri drop shop as I'm returning it. Then someone is coming to fix our bath which was leaking 😬. No idea what to do for dinner either, but I have some chicken in the fridge, so it will probably involve that.

I’ve had a lazy morning; a coffee in bed brought up by DH. DS1 & 2 woke up around 15 mins ago and DD is still asleep. DD has dance later so once I’ve dropped her off we are going to go and look for a new sofa for the snug and the boys want to go to the trampoline park.
We’re having friends over for a takeaway this evening so a nice, relaxed Saturday today.

I’m drinking coffee and slowly waking up after a busy week. Supposed to be catching up with a friend for lunch. We also need to return all the bits and pieces on the hall and landing to their rightful places as we had the carpet cleaned yesterday and had to move everything out of the way.

It’s a nice frosty morning here. I looked out of the window and a line from Thomas Hardy drifted back to me from a 30+year break since my undergrad’ days….’the sun was white as though chidden of God’. I recalled thinking I used to admire Hardy and now I think he must have been a blighter to live with if he was always that gloomy.

Im about to jump in the shower and take my daughter to piano then walk the dogs. I've put on some laundry. My son is staying with us as he just had a motorbike accident and broke a couple bones, so he needs a bit of help (one arm in cast and the other in a sling).
Later collect groceries.

I’m currently dragging myself up to full consciousness with the aid of caffeine. Stayed up wayyyy too late rewatching old Happy Valley.

It’s my turn to take the DC to their swimming lessons in a bit. Also on today’s agenda: DCs’ homework, thank you letters from Christmas 😬, and I really really want to defrost the freezer. DH wants to go into town so I will probably give him a list of bits to get for me too.

Later we are aiming to all watch a a film together, with hot chocolate for the DC and mulled cider for the adults.

But ugh, first I have to get my arse in gear and shower and defrost the car for bloody swimming. 😴😴

I think a chilled Saturday here, we had half a plan to go on a walk but we've had a very hard frost and I CBA to de-ice the car again.

Dc will probably do some just dance and baking later. I'm making quiche for dinner ans dp and I have been watching Tokyo Vice on iplayer which we will continue this evening.

I’ve been up since around 7.30 so have enjoyed the peace. Although house is usually peaceful to be fair.

just had some toast and need to go and get dressed. Have some piles of clothes and other bits I’ve been sorting to pack up for charity. Some washing to get on. Need DS to strip his bed. And a general tidy and vacuum. Maybe brush the dog. We have friends coming for dinner tonight and DH is cooking Indian. I could nip to jewellers to pick up a bracelet I had repaired but may leave that til Monday.

Just at swimming lesson then home for a bit before tap . DD’s are out with their dad this afternoon so im going to go to gym and do a few jobs at home .

Dd2's football match has just been cancelled, ds1 and 2 have a Thai boxing completion on the far side of Manchester and I suppose I could go now with dh and watch but I find it really hard to watch
Dd1 stayed at her boyfriends then going straight to work.
I'm going to catch up on some ironing I think, take the dog for a frosty walk and make something nice for dinner. Maybe th jamie Oliver roast chicken with curry paste and roast potatoes and cauliflower.

On my second brew, pissing about on here. DH is exercising in the bedroom, 2 DC are on iPads. We will all start getting ready in an hour to attend a birthday party. Then home later to watch the rest of fantastic beasts. No idea what's for dinner yet but I'm not cooking today so will leave that up to OH!

Feel knackered lately and absolutely no motivation to do fuck all!

I’m gutting the house, cleaning the carpets and brushing the cat to within an inch of its life. I’m actually looking forward to it for once as I’ve been psyching myself up all week. I always think this thread is lovely, I always appreciate it OP

I'm returning to work today after being off 3 weeks with a bad back. I'm looking forward to returning as I love my job but terrified I'll hurt my back again. Its not 100% right but better than it was.
However I don't start until 2pm. I'm currently in bed with my breakfast.
Live on my own so no rush to get up.

I'm jealous reading all the chilled Saturdays. I have young DC and find weekends a chore. Am secretly longing for the age where we can so do things together like go to the cinema. Instead it's taking turns to entertain whilst tackling housework and then to soft play. More caffeine is needed.

DC2 bought me a coffee at 7:15am as a bribe to get out of bed, took them to swim training at 7:30am and went for a run. I got icicles in my hair line from the freezing fog! Back now and having another coffee.

The second load of laundry has finished and needs hanging out, I need to clear up detritus from breakfast of other 3DC. DH and DD1 left early and will be out most of the day.

I’ve got to hoover the whole house, dust downstairs, take a DC to 90 minutes of dance, classes and make sure some homework gets done. Meh Saturday!

We moved house a couple of weeks ago so continuing to unbox.. we're at that annoying point of unboxing stuff that we don't really need (so trying to find homes for it)

I'm bored of it now!
