What tog duvet are you using at the moment ?

OP posts:

4.5 and open window most nights, usually just a sheet though. Age!

DP in different room with 15 tog + brushed cotton, flat sheets, quilt covers, heavy fleecy blanket.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 20/01/2023 17:50

10.5 plus my weighted blanket. Me and DH are in separate beds to due to health issues ATM and he's got 13.5 on his. DD has a 9 plus a wool blanket my DM knitted her which DD insists must be on the bed in all except the most tropical of weather!

Reinbek · 20/01/2023 17:51

9 and an open window.

To the people using a 4.5 and saying it's an age thing - I've used a 4.5 since my 20's! All year round. DH thinks I'm mad, but I'd rather be a little cool and need to put on socks or a long-sleeved top than be hot and sweaty while I'm trying to sleep.

SwedishEdith · 20/01/2023 17:53

One of those ones you put together so 13, I think. Window always open at night. Never cold in bed.

Sagittarius25 · 20/01/2023 17:53

10.5 and window open on the latch, I'm actually more often a bit too hot still rather than fully under the duvet and too cold

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 20/01/2023 17:54

We have an all seasons wool duvet which is two duvets poppered together. No idea on tog. Warm and heavy. Best purchase ever.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 20/01/2023 17:55

Our summer weight 4.5 tog is on all year round. In the summer I throw it off and just have a sheet. In the winter I usually do with the 4.5 and my fluffy PJs. With a throw for extra chilly evenings to add on top.

Lightningrain · 20/01/2023 17:57

4.5 with my dressing gown over the top.

Neither of us can sleep with it too hot.

MashedUpPotatoes · 20/01/2023 17:57

No duvet, I use a heat holders thermal blanket

Talia99 · 20/01/2023 17:57

13.5 plus electric blanket on low all night

PizzaNinja · 20/01/2023 18:00

No duvet, just a light fleece blanket. I always used to feel a bit suffocated by duvets 🤷‍♀️

Timeforachangeisitnot · 20/01/2023 18:00

9 + throw + Labrador. Window open. NE Scotland. I only get cold if DH and DDog steal it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/01/2023 18:02

4.5 tog+ Dunelm Teddy Bear sheet , 100% cotton duvet cover .

DS and DD have 7.5 togs , DD has a weighted blanket if she needs more .

And 2 cats but they rob heat from you , not supply it Grin

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/01/2023 18:04

13.5 with a really thin summer one over it.

WhoppingBigBackside · 20/01/2023 18:05

and DPet snuggled up to me.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 20/01/2023 18:06

Baavet 10 tog plus fleece blanket and a light quilted throw. Used to have 4.5 + 10.5 tog that you peppered together, wish I still had it but it was too heavy when changing the duvet cover 😢

CoffeandTiaMaria · 20/01/2023 18:10

*poppered for goodness sake!

TerfOnATrain · 20/01/2023 18:13

13 goose down, but it’s so cold that I’ve been leaving the thick bedspread which is for show only usually on the top. That said, I’m red hot under that lot and can’t sleep in anything more than a vest.

i could probably ditch the bedspread and wear pyjamas but I’d rather be free of most clothing in bed.

Flaunch · 20/01/2023 18:17

15 plus a fleece and a blanket. 15 tog stays on all year!

CatNamedBob · 20/01/2023 18:24

4.5 tog and window open a crack. I get hot at night.

DecommissionedVag · 20/01/2023 18:51

7.5 tog, but I'm quite a hot sleeper. Only have 4 tog in warmer months.

MyNameisMathilda · 20/01/2023 18:56

A medium wool which is an 8 - 12 tog.

mydogisthebest · 20/01/2023 20:01

4.5 and we both sleep naked. Our heating goes off at 9pm (bedroom radiator is on a lower number than the rest of the house) and when I go to bed at 11.30 it often feels chilly in the bedroom but once I get into bed I am warm.

I often wake in the night and have to throw the duvet off as I am too hot. Nothing to do with my age as I have always been the same

BiggerBoyMadeMeDoit · 20/01/2023 20:02

A winter weight wool duvet and a fleece throw on top since the cold spell.
