Where do you sell them Walnuts?

EBay.

picklemewalnuts · 18/01/2023 07:07

It works best as a side hobby- the 3D modelling was something we wanted, so made, and realised other people would want them too.
The audio books/cds etc DH is inclined to collect cheap second hand anyway, often on eBay. He watches/listens then sells them on.

Is it still possible to make money from that? Etsy always seems so crowded!

I’m about to make the same leap (not with candles) but can I ask.. do you work from
home? Do you find it boring or lonely doing it full time? I hate my full time job and love my side hustle but I wouldn’t see or speak to anyone doing it and worry I might get bored 🤔

It can be hit and miss really! Some months are great but other months are dead!

Cherry60 · 18/01/2023 14:26

@Hiddenvoice that's interesting! So still worth doing overall you think? How the heck do you get your stuff noticed??

janeeyreair · 18/01/2023 14:38

@Cherry60 yes it is definitely. People complain about Etsy, but the fees are very reasonable and the customer base is huge. To have access to all those potential customers is amazing, people always say 'oh they are a rip off im getting my own website'. But to drive that amount of traffic to a website is very very expensive.

Also the way people shop on etsy is more likely to result in a sale, people can put items from different shops into their basket and save items and on average spend more time on the site. If they do find your website the slightest thing can put them off and send them elsewhere.

Etsy also makes it incredibly easy to set up a shop, if you sell to USA they collect the sales tax and sort it out for you, the finance area is very easy to keep track of how much money you are making. I copy and paste the relevant info directly on to a spreadsheet so for self assessment it is all very straightforward.

Cherry60 · 18/01/2023 14:48

Thanks @janeeyreair 😊
