@MeganLogan
Well done - do you need to have lots of products to make much on those?

I have tried Etsy for printables but don't seem to be getting anywhere. 😂

Yes definitely. There’s a lot on social media about just making a planner and sticking it on Etsy. You need to have a good eye for design, match fonts, do product research, learn and implement SEO. It is a lot but once created, very passive. My shops ramp up once they have 75-100 listings.

AyeCarrumba · 27/01/2023 21:04

So by TES - di you mean Times Educational Supplement? 🤔

Honey
Dh is a bee keeper.
hobbyist with 40 hives, 300-500 jars a year.
mostly within the neighborhood. We offer home delivery. 90% repeat customers/word of mouth. Occasionally advertise on the neighborhood FB page for an easy 20-30 jar sale.

Buying items from retail shops and resell on Amazon for profit. Check out www.subtlelifestyle.co.uk blog which has more info.

Luckydog7 · 27/01/2023 21:27

I also make 3d models. Started as a side hustle next to my job in landscape construction and when I left I thought I would try to make a go of it. 6months in and now booked three weeks ahead (part time) but landscaping boomed over lockdown and my skills seem to fill a gap in the market.

thecatsthecats · 27/01/2023 21:32

Not telling!

Its a very niche item that isn't otherwise available in the UK. There's a small demand - 300 searches a year. And I'm the only supplier, so as long as they're happy with the price and style, I'm the only option.

LostSleep · 28/01/2023 10:16

Amazon

FuckabethFuckor · 28/01/2023 10:23

I ghostwrite short fiction, novellas and sometimes full-length novels for ‘self’-published writers.

AyeCarrumba · 28/01/2023 22:21

So many things to do! Thanks for sharing everyone it's inspiring.
Any more of you out there?

I make and sell crafts items.
It isn't a "side hustle" though, it is a full time job.

AyeCarrumba · 28/01/2023 22:26

I'd love to see your stuff if anyone wants to share links..

Organic skincare, I really enjoy it!

Love this thread, very interesting.

Haven’t done it in years but used to make a nice amount selling used shoes, socks, and tights on eBay. Would literally buy a £4 pair of ballet pumps in Primark (the awful ones that stink after two wears), then sell them.

Saturated market and eBay clamped down so moved to another platform but then lost interest.

I’m no longer in need of an additional income, but so some content development for a few companies. I fell into this as my Instagram page got popular due to an interest of mine, so I started writing on the topic for other businesses.

secretskillrelationships · 28/01/2023 23:05

I have several income streams so not sure quite which is my ‘main’ job and which qualifies as a side hustle! However I’m in the top 4% of sellers on Etsy for my jewellery business (silver and copper). Sounds great but my turnover was around £6k last year and profit is approximately half that, so I do wonder what percentage of sellers actually make a full time income. But I do very little promotion and I love that people buy what I make - in fact it still gives me a buzz every time I make a sale nearly 5 years on! It very much fits around the rest of my life and sales have increased every year since I started in spite of it being a saturated market.

Slightly tangential but I sell money management and investing online skills courses for kids doing their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

I had to go though an approval process first but I enjoy teaching kids basic money and life skills.

I also started renting my house and garden out on Scouty and Peerspace last year.
