Someone selling coasters with tea splattered all over them. I'm honestly gobsmacked.

Adds to the relaxed look 😂 Love it.

How many of your English pounds do they want for this retro treasure?

Oakbeam · 15/01/2023 08:07

I remember seeing an advert in the local paper offering a bag of odd socks for £5.

Also a journalist who listed a few strands of old rope on eBay when it first started. He sold it.

webuiltthiscityonrockandwheat · 15/01/2023 08:11

How much are they asking for these rare delights? I generally love Vinted and have bought and sold a lot but people take the piss. Someone is trying to sell a Lego set for £2 more than I can get it on Amazon. Add the postage and it's about a fiver more Confused

bookworm1982 · 15/01/2023 08:17

They are asking for £3.50.

I love Vinted. I sell lots on it and you can buy really good stuff. But this is odd, I think you've got to be a bit dim to try and sell something like this!

Unless it's a joke and this person is actually a comedy genius, in which case, it's brilliant 🤣

One man's junk is another man's treasure OP 😉

Tamarindtree · 15/01/2023 08:44

They would be ok used to put under jar candles or plant pots but as coasters they have had their day.

Weddi · 15/01/2023 09:04

The best thing on Vinted is when they say ‘brand new, never worn’ whilst modelling it.

KenAdams · 15/01/2023 09:08

Sometimes things are so tight you resort to this sort of thing in desperation. My mum used to have to save up coppers to buy me milk as a baby, this is the modern day version of that. If you've never been dirt poor you can't understand it.

You can get new coasters cheaper than that though.

WeepingSomnambulist · 15/01/2023 09:14

It's like something Joe Lycett would do for one of his shows.

Heckythump1 · 15/01/2023 09:17

I saw a pair of kids wellies the other day, caked in mud, fronts all scuffed and the handles on both boots were all completely snapped off.... they wanted £2! The mind boggles!

🤣🤣🤣

I remember the 'money for old rope' article, he found some washed up rope on the beach listed it on Ebay and sold it! If I recall he didn't factor in p&p though😉

I think the poster means the seller is desperate, not the buyer.

Redleaftea · 15/01/2023 09:27

Does anyone else think vinted is driving down the price of decent second hand stuff? (I mean decent, not like the coasters the op found!)

I am looking to sell a lovely Boden coat that cost over £50 new and I've previously seen for sale used on eBay for £20- Vinted gave a recommended price of £2!

AnotherNameChangeYes · 15/01/2023 09:29

They’re only good enough for the charity shop!

IglesiasPiggl · 15/01/2023 09:30

Yeah, not sure a ridged surface with lovely little puddle ruts was ever a great design idea for a coaster!

A charity shop would bin them as they are stained.

Yes, the seller.

THisbackwithavengeance · 15/01/2023 09:53

@Redleaftea

I agree.

I started selling on Vinted last year after me and EBay fell out but it's hardly worth it.

For every shitty pisstaking seller complained about on here, there are a 100 hardnosed buyers who literally want something for nothing. No one wants to pay a fair or even a bargain price; they are only happy if they can brag that they've ripped someone off or bartered someone down.

I charity shop everything now and feel happy that at least I am helping my chosen charity even if I'm not earning money.

Bagsundermyeyestoday · 15/01/2023 10:08

I saw someone selling a used toilet brush the other day!! Wtaf!

hotpotlover · 15/01/2023 10:11

I saw really dirty, muddy, worn-out children's sneakers being sold on Vinted for 2 pounds I think.

I couldn't believe that people would sell something like that instead of just binning it.

Surely even children from poorer families deserve to wear a clean, nice-looking pair of shoes?

I only sell things on Vinted if there in a good state. Everything else is just taking the piss.

ThewaytoAmarula · 15/01/2023 10:20

Those coasters could be nice if they were cleaned up - by the seller! I don't understand why people attempt to sell dirty stuff, aren't they embarrassed? Worst is when they say "just needs a wipe/ just needs a quick iron". Just do it yourself then and it might sell!
