A massive bag of wooden train tracks, many trains, and other bits for £7

ChocolatSouris · 04/01/2023 15:52

Week before Christmas - Nigellas Christmas and Save with Jamie. Love charity shops for books.

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 04/01/2023 15:55

A bag of sewn up patchwork shapes - £3.00 (to be used in lots of other projects)
4 lovely scarves - £4.00 - soon to be handles for pillowcase totes
A pair small wooden knitting needles - 50p, to be used as corner tuners
One of those folding sewing/knitting bags - £2. I have a few. I keep class projects in them as they are easy to carry in the car
A bag of cotton lace - £2, I will be tea and coffee dyeing it as soon as find a bucket

Beebumble2 · 04/01/2023 16:16

A large Royal Winton china planter for £8.

IncessantNameChanger · 04/01/2023 16:20

A m&s party dress for dd £2.49 and a jumper for her £1.49. But trying to avoid the high street for a few months now.

Rocketpants50 · 04/01/2023 16:22

2 orchard games for children I teach. I love a charity shop for teaching resources

Ihavehairlikeworzelgummidge · 04/01/2023 16:29

Black M&S dress. Brand new with the price tag on. (49.99) I pay £9.00. Definitely a bargain.

Mouthfulofquiz · 04/01/2023 16:32

I had a navy blue wool and cashmere coat for £20. It is heavenly.

MunchMunch · 04/01/2023 16:35

Nothing! But I dropped a black sack of my late db's clothes.

smoothieooo · 04/01/2023 16:41

A Burberry mohair jumper, but it did cost me a whopping £17.50! Plus a blingy cocktail ring for £3.

I have a group of friends and we do charity shop Christmas presents with a £5 limit. I found a beautiful antique, tiny condiment jar with a real silver spoon and an antique button attaching kit (perfect for dressmaker friend). Much better than the usual smellies / chocs with the proviso that if the gift isn't to the recipient's taste, it goes straight back to a charity shop!

Squabbledee · 04/01/2023 16:42

Nothing, because the charity shops near me are TOO FUCKING EXPENSIVE!

Kevinyoutwat · 04/01/2023 16:44

Mine too!

They sell those Primark baby T shirts that you can get for less than a pound for £3.50

Everything is so overpriced.

QueefQueen80s · 04/01/2023 16:46

£2.50 for a leather jacket and £1.50 for a pvc handbag with lovely chain straps.
Love charity shops!

eatsleeppaddle · 04/01/2023 16:47

I dropped off 2 bags and bought a cook book and a primark dress with the tag on it still.

Choconut · 04/01/2023 16:53

£1.50 for a lovely mother and baby cuddly penguin. 75p each for 4 books and £1 each for a couple of games.

HBGKC · 04/01/2023 16:57

Long black & white 100% cotton skirt from Zara £9.99
White Stuff 100% merino wool navy long slouchy cardigan - was £16.99 but it had a tiny hole on the back (which I'll darn) so got it for £12.99

Both from Traid, which is definitely not the cheapest second hand place out there.

HBGKC · 04/01/2023 16:59

I also dropped off a basket of books, so Win Win!

HelloBunny · 04/01/2023 16:59

I’m heading down to my local one on Friday. Always loads of stuff after Christmas, even brand new gifts (which I dii is not need either...)

Cherrysoup · 04/01/2023 17:11

I have a big bag to drop off. Love charity shops. My last purchase was a bee pendant, it looks really old.

Purplemist · 04/01/2023 17:20

A new 1000 piece jigsaw for £3.

Needmorelego · 04/01/2023 17:24

The unwanted christmas pressies don't seem to have made it into my local charity shops yet 😕
I usually get loads of stuff in January.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 04/01/2023 17:25

The new Kate Atkinson hardback - 50p.

Niftythrifter · 04/01/2023 18:23

@Needmorelego I saw a Soap and Glory gift set priced at more than you would pay for a new Soap and Glory gift set you’d buy in the sales at the moment. This gift set was from at least last year!
