Looking for inspiration, with or without the kids

OP posts:

Boring here. Going to wash my bedding and PJs, and have a luxurious bath with the booze I got given for xmas.

FluffyPJs · 27/12/2022 21:02

Our teenager is going to a friends house party, we are going out for a meal and then to the cinema. We should be home just in time for the fireworks.

MsSquiz · 27/12/2022 21:04

We have a 3 year old and an 8 month old so DH is going to the match in the afternoon then the DC will be down by 7:30/8ish and we'll probably have a meal cooked by DH with some champagne and DH will make me see in the new year! Then I'll be in bed by 12:05!

Probs be asleep before 12!

MissyB1 · 27/12/2022 21:14

Trying to stop dog from making herself sick with fear from the fireworks. Actually I will be sedating her this year, hoping to get a prescription from the vet on Friday.

Wouldnt be able to go out even if I wanted to, she can’t be on her own when fireworks are happening.

UsernameTaken76 · 27/12/2022 21:16

Couple of friends coming round for a meal. No idea what to cook yet! We will then play board games and all have headed home / to bed before midnight

MyBooksAndMyCats · 27/12/2022 21:18

A couple of drinks with DH and a early night. I'm not a big drinker/going out.

LolaMoon · 27/12/2022 21:22

Staying in and celebrating. I despise going out on NYE, there’s always fights and people hammered and vomiting in the streets (I live in a tourist town where people typically go for clubbing/hen/stag nights etc) last year I found a woman literally lying in the gutter in the morning outside our house. I asked her if she was ok and she stumbled up and walked off. It’s just absolute carnage and I hate it. Much prefer going out when it’s calmer on another day of the year.

Augustone · 27/12/2022 21:25

Tomahawk steak for dinner with bottle of very good red wine, probably watch something on Netflix and asleep by midnight. Not very rock n roll but suits us!

EveryLittleWish · 27/12/2022 21:28

London fireworks ! I’ve never been ! Actually in all my 38 years of life I’ve not gonna out for New Year’s Eve 🥳! My parents are visiting from overseas and are coming with me !

Whendovescry03 · 27/12/2022 21:32

Going properly out for the first time in years! Babysitter is sorted so we're heading off to stay with some friends and we've booked tickets for a night with lots of disco DJs! We live rurally and nights out are usually a few pints down the pub so I'll admit I'm feeling a bit nervous about a full blown night out in a city. Should be fun though!

CornishGem1975 · 27/12/2022 21:32

Nothing, no babysitter so it's just another night. Will probably be in bed by 11pm as the sitting around waiting for midnight seems so pointless.

cheapskatemum · 27/12/2022 21:39

Watching Hootenanny with DH. Champagne & singing Auld Lang Syne at midnight. Then going to bed. Glad to see the back of 2022 & really hoping for a better 2023 for us.

SortinMyMH · 27/12/2022 21:44

Take away, tv, bed.
I have a real hate for nye. I don't know why but staying in makes me happy.
So that's what ill do.

tigger1001 · 27/12/2022 21:47

I'm not a new year lover so will hopefully be in bed long before the bells. Unfortunately both my kids will probably want to stay up

Deadringer · 27/12/2022 21:48

Nothing exciting, we are going out for a nice family meal then home for a few drinks, maybe a bottle of fizz to see in the new year. We are a family of 6 adults and a teen so there is enough of us for a party without having to go to the trouble of inviting guests.

LateMumma · 27/12/2022 21:52

Been invites to a couple of things, but suspect they may be messy so suspect we'll stay in. Food, booze and Netflix

OneFrenchEgg · 27/12/2022 21:53

Accidentally organised a party. Had a drink , was asked what we were doing - turns out I'm super hospitable after a Prosecco Grin

Afl · 27/12/2022 21:56

DH is working so It'll be a night in for me and the kids. Will put them to bed normal time and I'll probably be right behind them and grab an early night. We don't tend to celebrate NY

Nofreshstarthere22 · 27/12/2022 21:56

I hate NY going to bed early

heidihigh · 27/12/2022 21:58

Night in with DP, few drinks, lots of nibbles, maybe some board games. And to bed by 12.05 Grin

DramaAlpaca · 27/12/2022 21:59

Dinner with friends and seeing the NY in with them.

user58202018484482910ugog19293843910 · 27/12/2022 22:00

Clean bedsheets on everyone's bed, clean jammies laid out, order and have dinner delivered, baths/showers for everyone after dinner, watch a film and get dd to bed at 8, ds will stay up with me for the bells and then it's straight to bed.

EllaPaella · 27/12/2022 22:00

Party at a friends house. Kids included. I love NYE.

That sounds wonderful
