Would love to know anyones recipe for red cabbage which turns out full of Xmas spice flavours and on the sweeter side, but whilst still being savoury but not vinegary?
Tried many recipes over time which promise to be the one but just taste more sour than anything. Have only ever had what I'm looking for when in restaurants Xmas Angry
TIA

Let me know how you like it, making it tonight a agin for BBQ pulled pork my teen wants 😁

Made it this morning and it's absolutely delicious. My house smells amazing. Such a simple recipe but big flavours. Thank you!!

Thanks @TinFoilHatty . I have made it now and it's delicious! Looking forward to the main event tomorrow

I made it and froze it. Any idea how to defrost and reheat?

I took mine out of the freezer this afternoon, the container's in the fridge now to start defrosting and tomorrow I will finish the defrost/heat it through in the microwave. Or you can put it frozen or semifrozen into a pan and heat very gently on the hob

So as an update for anyone who cares what I went for; my DP got involved and went with the Delia one mentioned several times in this thread.
However we did 1 tbsp of wine vinegar not 3 and more sugar than the recipe. Tasted ok during cooking. Will have had 2 days in the fridge to develop the flavour by lunchtime tomorrow.Fingers crossed for a non sour red cabbage. Thanks all 🙏

Delia was a hit. Definitely doing it again next year.

We all loved Delian's here too

Hi @Firefin, I'm interested in trying your recipe for NYE. Can it be made the day before, do you think?
Thanks!

I made my usual go-to recipe (Delia's) and DH commented on how nice it was this year, not sure if I did anything differently from previous years but it was definitely a big hit. There's another couple of helpings in the freezer, it freezes well.

I usually make it a few hours or a day in advance - the flavours mix better that way.

Thanks @Firefin !
