I have lost half a block of cheese!

Not a normal size block, one of the massive value ones the supermarkets sell 🤦‍♀️

I've had the entire fridge empty, to clean it, checked the cupboards. Not there 🤷‍♀️

Not in the top of the bin.

Wtf have we done with it?!

In the boot of the car?

Pixiedust1234 · 20/12/2022 17:38

Knock on the skirting board and politely ask the mice to return it.

PsychoSyd · 20/12/2022 17:38

The mice have pinched it for their Christmas feast! 😂

Did you pick it up off the conveyor thing when you bought it? Is it in the car perhaps or did you eat it and forget

WetBandits · 20/12/2022 17:39

Do you have a dog? Mine has stolen many a block of cheese!

lucysmam · 20/12/2022 17:40

No, we don't have a dog.

It was half used & in a freezer bag.

Completely baffled!

Dancingfairydreams · 20/12/2022 17:42

In the freezer?

mamamilkmachine · 20/12/2022 17:43

Must be in a cupboard...what did you have it out for in the first place, what else was you putting away?

Dartmoorcheffy · 20/12/2022 17:44

It's with the two packs of cooked chicken breast i bought 3 days ago and haven't seen since. Once the lost bacon arrives they can be a club sandwich. 🤣

KateBalesCardi · 20/12/2022 17:45

Can you remember what you used it for last? Then look where other ingredients you would have used are kept? Freezer, bread bin etc. You've probably absent mindedly put it away in the wrong place.

Namechangedincaseshesonhere · 20/12/2022 17:46

Do you have kids? We would raid the fridge for a midnight feast. Once my mum asked me why I was up so late and a pack of ham fell out of my pyjamas 😂

ouch321 · 20/12/2022 17:47

You probably used it to top a pasta bake or something and have forgotten.

DressedUp · 20/12/2022 17:51

One of the mumsnetter mythical 6 footer, 12 year old sons with hollow legs has stolen it as a pre dinner snack. 😬

lucysmam · 20/12/2022 17:54

The last time it was used was to make a wrap, and a sandwich on Monday night. The girls don't appear to be fibbing about having no idea where it is but it's a possibility.

It's definitely not in the fridge, on a worktop, or in a cupboard/drawer in the kitchen.

If it's not in the chest freezer, I'll presume it's been swept into the bin off the chopping board 🤷‍♀️

wheretoyougonow · 20/12/2022 17:54

Have you removed the vegetable drawer in the fridge and checked behind it?

Fireyflies · 20/12/2022 17:58

I'd vote for teenagers. Mine ate things like that and lied about it out of embarrassment

tulips27 · 20/12/2022 17:59

🐹

DanFmDorking · 20/12/2022 18:58

I think this person is responsible.

lucysmam · 20/12/2022 19:07

@DanFmDorking I'm intrigued by what you said now!

Anyway, the cheese is not in the chest freezer. So, either the girls have had it, it's somewhere totally random, or it's been swept into the bin on the chopping board 🤔

I seem to have eaten ALL of the cheese in our house in the last few days so may well have eaten the cheese in other people's houses too!

BCBird · 20/12/2022 19:13

Once bought some cakes, got back sat down to a cup of tea and cake and HAD LEFT THEM IN SHOP. 🙈 Gutted

mumonthehill · 20/12/2022 19:13

While you are looking, I have lost the mango chutney I bought yesterday!! I have checked the car.

You may not have a dog, but do you gave a cat? (Ours steal cheese)

PerkingFaintly · 20/12/2022 19:18

You put it on the cake instead of marzipan?

purplecorkheart · 20/12/2022 19:19

In the press where the grater is kept? Or in the bread bin?
