I have lost half a block of cheese!

Not a normal size block, one of the massive value ones the supermarkets sell 🤦‍♀️

I've had the entire fridge empty, to clean it, checked the cupboards. Not there 🤷‍♀️

Not in the top of the bin.

Wtf have we done with it?!

Did the naughty elf take it?

lucysmam · 20/12/2022 20:35

At this point @Diversion that's entirely possible 🤣

I love all these cheese threads at Christmas 😅

Can I add my own cheese tale of woe?

Jinglecrunch · 20/12/2022 20:44

Have you checked the butter dish and the bread bin?

lucysmam · 20/12/2022 20:48

@PollyCreo feel free to add your own! It might soften the blow of having to think about tea tomorrow!

It's not in with the bread & there's a new block of butter softening a little on the side, not in the plate cupboard where the grater lives either.

In my house I would guess the toddler has taken it and having a cheese feast….I can get the appeal

Have you recently visited the White House?

(Those who know, know 😉😉)

OP it's a Very Sad Story and one that still upsets me to this day.

Ten years ago my marriage broke down, it was very traumatic etc etc. I lived 2000 miles away from my parents and was desperate to get back to see them at Christmas. I arrived back to lovely hugs and cuddles, all was right in the world once more. Second day in my parents' house (once I stopped weeping) I opened the fridge to see one of those cheese platters from Tesco - there was every cheese imaginable, my heartbreak was over! But no. No. My mother cruelly informed me that the platter was to be saved for her NYE party and I couldn't have any. The only cheese available for me was a sad 200g piece of low--fat sadness.

I have never forgiven her for this, one of my friends occasionally berates her for it 😂

I would have gone NC for that.

OP, could you have finished it already and forgotten?

JanesLittleGirl · 20/12/2022 21:18

If the cheese is in your house and not refrigerated then it will soon let you know where it is.

purplecorkheart · 20/12/2022 21:22

Do you have elf on the shelf? Maybe they are holding the block of cheese to random? Check the letterbox for slivers!

WWLD? 😉

I refer to "Big Block of Cheese Day" for anyone who thought I was being a bit strange and left field there.

I love it when Leo says Margaret worked hard that the appropriate petitioner went to the appropriate staffer...and she shook her head. 🤣

If anyone is interested, the episodes are "The Crackpots and These Women" and "Somebodys Going to Emergency, Somebodys Going to Jail".

fancyacuppatea · 21/12/2022 15:50

@lucysmam did you find the cheese, BTW? Xmas Grin

I once left some Stilton in a very nice M&S shopping bag. Let's just say by the time I found it neither the cheese nor the bag were very nice.

lucysmam · 21/12/2022 16:17

@fancyacuppatea nope, I gave up looking...it'll make its presence known, if it's still here, I'm sure
