Has anyone else still not had Covid? Lighthearted musing

I've not had it yet and really hope Christmas is not when I succumb to it. Someone at work told me I would be like a cockroach if the end of the world came- only thing to survive kind of thing.
There's so much about right now and I'm thinking surely I'll get it. Will I?

Not everyone has symptoms…. How do you know you’ve not had it 🤣

TheCurseOfBoris · 13/12/2022 21:58

I thought that and then...... Felt a bit unwell. Been to a football match, first ever! Suddenly realised I'd lost my sense of smell and appetite. Tested and lo and behold, I'd got it and so had my DS. I honestly thought that if I didn't get it in the peak, then I must be super human, lol.

FredaFox · 13/12/2022 21:58

Nope not had it yet, I'm sure it's only a matter of time

mikado1 · 13/12/2022 21:59

Exactly what Dippy said! I had it last January and only tested as both dcs had it.. I would never have known otherwise. Not a single symptom. Very few haven't had it, but you might be one of them! My very elderly DDad hasn't had it.

RoonilWazlib21 · 13/12/2022 22:00

I've tested on LFTs twice weekly since they became available (disabled DD at home with support workers coming in 4 times a week) I've never tested positive or had symptoms and I've had 4 covid vaccines.

Polkadotpjs · 13/12/2022 22:00

I had one of those antibodies tests as part of a study not long after being really poorly twice but testing negative. Of course it's possible I've had it since but am too skint to pay for another antibodies test !

I've had 3 jabs as well, so was amazed I'd got it. Am a bit relieved tbh. It's something to tick off and hopefully I've built up some immunity? Who knows. I guess everyone will get it at some point, seeing as how precautions have been relaxed. I guess it's the new flu. Something we'll have to live with.

Musthavebeenbadinapastlife · 13/12/2022 22:02

We’ve not had it.
DH is CEV, I still wear masks at work and test twice weekly.

NoEffingWay · 13/12/2022 22:33

Got it this week after nearly three years on working on (lots of covid patient) hospital wards...I recently started WFH so I am baffled! DP and I are shells of our former selves, but are slowly getting better.

gamerchick · 13/12/2022 22:34

I haven't as far as I know. Have never tested positive anyway.

Crinkle77 · 13/12/2022 22:38

I've not as far as I'm aware. I live with my mother and she hasn't either. I'd think that one of us would have symptoms if we had it or people I'd been mixing with may have caught it off me. I was testing a couple of times a week until they stopped being free. Hope I haven't jinxed myself now!

Crinkle77 · 13/12/2022 22:40

Also the amount of times I was a close contact with someone who had it was unreal and I still never caught it despite testing.

justasking111 · 13/12/2022 22:40

I haven't. Certainly no symptoms, not even a cold in three years. OH had some pre testing wound up with pleurisy. DIL Xmas 2019 wound up in hospital with something we now think was covid. Son, both kids and the new kitten were all I'll that Xmas, they nearly lost kitty, vet was baffled.

Other family have had it, no idea how I escaped it.

SunshineBoy · 13/12/2022 22:41

Yesterday I would have said I was the same as you then last night I had the most bizarre fever dreams and woke up feeling awful. Tested positive. Must have taken over a 150 tests these last 2+ years so it was a shock to see an immediate second line.

I worked frontline with nurses and then in schools up until a year ago and tested multiple times a week so am certain I didn’t get it symptomless. Now I spend 90% of my week WFH and boom I get it! Typical really!

Boredof2020 · 13/12/2022 22:41

No, not had it. Also get 4 buses a day

Twillow · 13/12/2022 22:42

I haven't to my knowledge and have had DCs at home with it and worked in customer facing role all through lockdown! Never thought I had a particularly robust immune system but I did take Vit D all through.

greenhousegal · 13/12/2022 22:42

Not as far as I am aware anyway. Despite being hospitalised three times during Covid, immune system shot, full on anaemic, blood transfusions the works.

I'd rather have had Covid TBH!

same Here! Madness that I barely leave the house these days but now I get it.

neighboursmustliveon · 13/12/2022 22:45

So far as far as I know I've not. I work in a school so for a long time I tested twice weekly. It's been in my house twice so tested regularly then and never tested positive. My dh thinks I'm immune.

LesOliviers · 13/12/2022 22:46

I've not had it and neither has anyone in my household. We test every week before seeing my Dad because he's been having cancer treatment since Jan 2020. None of us have had a positive test.

leithreas · 13/12/2022 22:46

Not that I know of. There's me, dh and 2 teens. None of us have had it that we know.

Coffeepot72 · 13/12/2022 22:46

I don’t think I’ve had it, unless I had the ‘no symptoms’ version?

bramblebucket · 13/12/2022 22:48

Not to my knowledge in and out of hospitals with a sick relative (not covid) and on public transport all day.

ToffeeEl · 13/12/2022 22:51

I've not had it, only person out of everyone I know. People keep joking I must be carrying the cure in my system.

I mainly worry that I've been some sort of symptom-free super-spreader, or it's going to really grab me one day and clobber me

Dartmoorcheffy · 13/12/2022 22:53

Nope not had it DP had it in June and I still didn't test positive or have any symptoms. Luckily I've got to the ripe old age of 52 and never had flu either. Last time I had a cold was over 8 years ago too.
