Has anyone else still not had Covid? Lighthearted musing

I've not had it yet and really hope Christmas is not when I succumb to it. Someone at work told me I would be like a cockroach if the end of the world came- only thing to survive kind of thing.
There's so much about right now and I'm thinking surely I'll get it. Will I?

I presume I had it but symptoms too mild to notice.
It's with us forever.
We will all 'get it' lots of times in our lives.
I lost interest in December 2020.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 13/12/2022 22:57

None of us had it yet, including both mine and dh's family. A lot of my dc's close friends had it but he hasn't. Started to think we might have the lucky gene. Fingers crossed.

UrsulaPandress · 13/12/2022 22:59

Not had it as far as I know and I used to test twice a week.

Had a big reaction to my latest booster though.

Lcb123 · 13/12/2022 23:01

Never tested positive - but doesn’t mean I haven’t had it. Who still tests nowadays anyway?

TokenGinger · 13/12/2022 23:05

As far as I'm aware, I haven't yet had it. Whenever I was notified as a close contact and tested, it was always negative. There is a chance I've had it asymptomatically , I suppose, but AFAIK, I haven't yet. Nor has DP or DS.

Floralnomad · 13/12/2022 23:06

None of my immediate family have had it that we know of .

healthadvice123 · 13/12/2022 23:09

The first time i tested positive only tested as ds had it and contacts had to test
Negative on several LFT but PCR positive
2 nd time had it , dh had it tested negative fpr couple days then felt like i had flu Nd positive
Dh had again recently , mild symptoms and despite me having headache for couple days , kept testing negative.
Its not alwayz picked up by tests and symptoms varied with me

KitchenDiscos · 13/12/2022 23:12

I haven’t had it. DC both had it Oct 2020 and DH had it Jan 2021 so I was testing daily during these times and never got a positive result. Very weird!

middleager · 13/12/2022 23:13

My Mom, 75, has had various coughs and colds, but she didn't slways take Covid tests. She is now convinced she's invincible and immune to Covid.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/12/2022 23:15

I've never had it

Allsnotwell · 13/12/2022 23:19

2/5 not had it here!

No family transmission- I test DD when she’s been unwell just to confirm she’s ‘had it’ she’s CV and has been in two big high schools, works in a cafe and still not positive test.

Fizzorgin · 13/12/2022 23:20

I work in business continuity, I actually feel a bit hard done by that the issue I've been working so hard for our business against I've got been bit on the bum by yet BlushGrin

But then I'm a massive arse Xmas Wink

ChecoPerez · 13/12/2022 23:25

Never had it as far as I am aware. I had to test twice a week for work and I carried on doing so whilst on maternity leave and then when the rules changed on it at work. I still test twice a week though.

Lying in bed feeling run down, more like a cold coming on, so I'll test tomorrow morning to check.

Alocasia · 13/12/2022 23:26

I succumbed finally last week. Despite having a job that involves putting my face in other peoples’ faces multiple times a day, I’ve avoided it. Two days of a mild sore throat, slight cough, now my sense of smell has gone. I’ve not been unwell at all. Could easily not have known I had it.

summer788 · 13/12/2022 23:27

Me and I haven't had any vacs

KnickerlessParsons · 13/12/2022 23:31

I haven't had it and neither has DH, despite 27yo DD who
Lives at home having it twice.

NoFitStateMum · 13/12/2022 23:31

I got it for the first time that I'm aware of last week. Fully vaxxed and boosted. Same for my DP who got it swiftly after me. I was symptomatic and felt rough but only for a day or so. No cough, fever or sore throat just fatigue, aches and chills. DP has been a bit worse. Cough and headache and totally wiped out energy wise. We both avoided it when the kids got it a good while ago and we were only double jabbed at that point. My last booster was only a few weeks ago.

OzziePopPop · 14/12/2022 00:21

Me and DH (to my knowledge… the kids have had it but I’m CEV so was (and am) v careful. I’ve been jabbed so many times now that I’m mostly sure I’d be ok if I did get it… mostly. I’m still careful though!

ChecoPerez · 14/12/2022 09:22

Woke up feeling worse this morning and a negative LFT...

megletthesecond · 14/12/2022 09:28

Me. I still test and avoided it when my teen dc's had it. I've had all 4 jabs and am annoyingly healthy.
I've avoided doing a lot of stuff though and still wear masks. Lone parent so no social life anyway which probably helps.

Pineapplebread · 14/12/2022 10:02

I'd not had it until this week, dh tested positive on Saturday and me on Monday. Although I'd been feeling bad on the weekend it still showed negative then.
Feeling a lot better today, yesterday was the worst thing I've ever experienced but feeling a lot more with it now, dh is still going through the wars though.

OldTinHat · 14/12/2022 10:13

I've not had it.

Piscesmumma1978 · 14/12/2022 10:17

Me and dp haven't and we've had it in the house 3 times!

We test when we're ill and when one of our kids has it. No idea how we've avoided it as we've exposed before and when people have tested positive. Must be immune 🤣

Forever42 · 14/12/2022 10:20

Me, primary school teacher. All of my colleagues have had it at least knce, many of them more than once. DH and DD have had it. I may have had it without knowing but I have tested any time I've had any symptoms.

potplant · 14/12/2022 10:22

Don’t think so.

I’ve tested every time I’ve had symptoms and close contact when I was supposed to test.

i haven’t been testing regularly for a while though so might have had it but not known.

Ive had 4 jabs so presumably it would be quite mild if I did get it.
