Showers in the dark and other strangely nice things

A few years ago there was a thread on here about weird but nice ways of doing things.

I loved that thread and still do two of the things that posters shared: showering in the dark- strangely comforting; and brushing my teeth with warm water- also nice.

Do you have any weird but nice ways to do ordinary things?

I love an icy cold teeth brushing! It feels cleaner. The cold plus the mintiness of the toothpaste combines to create just the right amount of “ouch”. I don’t have sensitive teeth, though.

Shaving one leg only, especially when it’s the first post-winter shave, and rubbing the bald leg against the Mr Tumnus leg is also GREAT.

You could do different voices and make them have a conversation

I was brought up to never put water from the hot tap in my mouth. If the water isn't icy cold for my teeth it feels gross.

Feel like I'm lowering the tone here. Sometimes when I wash my very long hair, some strands fall out and get wedged between my butt cheeks. Very nice, satisfying, tickly feeling when they have to be pulled out.

I'm convinced nothing feels as good as swimming naked.
I don't shower in the dark, but I do eat in the bath. It looks gross written down 😅 but eating ice cold fruit or chocolate in a hot candle lit bath is heavenly I promise

I love a shower in the dark too! I always shower without the lights on in the morning.

Sleeping outside in the summer. I sleep on the cushions on the outdoor bench (it's wide and long, not a park bench) with fleece blankets under me, a hoodie on over my head and then my duvet with a fleece blanket on top (so the dew doesn't get in/on my duvet). I wake up early with sunrise but having had the best night's sleep. I do it on our roof space (flat roof) so have the birds flying overhears too. It's utterly magical.

Well it was. Last time I was up there I discovered the neighbours were on their flat bit too. We were out of sight of each other, but I could definitely hear them "enjoying" the experience even more than I was...

I'll have to make a lot of noise the next time I do it so they know I'm there!
