Got Saturday night to myself (bliss)
Going to buy a dinner from M&S or Waitrose

I'm having pasta tomorrow

What would be your ultimate tv dinner to sit on the sofa with?

I don't know if m&s or Waitrose do then, but my absolute favorite is cinnamon kitchen Indian ready meals. They are closer to takeaway quality than to a normal ready meal. However the price reflects that so I don't have them often at all...

RainbowToes · 01/12/2022 22:07

From waitrose I'd get the Kleftico. It's gorgeous. Few herby roast potatoes and some veg.
I've got some mussels, going to have them with crusty bread and chilled white wine.

PlasticTatMNBingo · 01/12/2022 22:07

What's a ready meal?

DaisyDando · 01/12/2022 22:09

Four cheese ravioli is the best. Don’t tell anyone.

catsonahottinroof · 01/12/2022 22:10

I used to like M&S's mushroom papardelle (not sure if they still do it). Pasta ready meals are generally better imo but not very good if you're having pasta tomorrow. Don't know about Waitrose but Charlie Bingham's are good - quite homemade style.

kateandme · 01/12/2022 22:12

I am going to be hated.but...
Snuggly cereal and toast.
If you really can't abide me for that option. A shepherds or fish pie.
Never had a ready meal from there so I can't know.
So I might just have a proper cooked jacket and beans.i am of no help.
If it's a ready meal it's got to be a good one.like the deluxe version I guess they do.

dancingqueen123 · 01/12/2022 22:13

Fish pie with peas!

What's a ready meal?

There's always one 🙄

I like the Tuscan Sausage Pasta from M&S

justasking111 · 01/12/2022 22:15

OH hates fish pie and lasagne so it's my secret treat if he's dining out

hoipolloih · 01/12/2022 22:16

The Itsu Katsu curry 🤤

Nancienoo · 01/12/2022 22:16

Charlie Bingham lasagne or cottage pie

Kapalika · 01/12/2022 22:19

Either a curry or a ham and mushroom tagliatellei. Mushrooms are hated in this house apart from by me.

LokiCokey · 01/12/2022 22:19

Another vote for Charlie Binghams

UnknownFemale01 · 01/12/2022 22:20

Oh I love that one.

I’m a fan of any king prawn linguine ready meal covered in parmigiano reggiano and doused in Franks Hot Sauce (don’t judge) 😋

Nancienoo · 01/12/2022 22:22

Quote fail. That one being the Tuscan sausage penne

Clawdy · 01/12/2022 22:22

Any Charlie Bigham, but especially the Tikka Masala, or the Meatballs Al Forno.

TomAllenWife · 01/12/2022 22:23

Dear god all these pasta suggestions when I'm having pasta tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Fish pie is a good shout, who does the best? Charlie?? Or M&S?

Nancienoo · 01/12/2022 22:25

charlie cottage pie then no pasta overload

Tr1skel1on · 01/12/2022 22:27

Don't know if you are veggie, avoid the M&S plant based range. The katsu curry is the definition of disappointment.

However their veggie Indian side dishes are gorgeous

talkingmorenonsense · 01/12/2022 22:28

I’m the other “one” I don’t eat ready meals. As a treat I would choose fish and chips from the chippie.

Rupertgrintismyguiltypleasure · 01/12/2022 22:29

M&S king prawn bucatini... absolute lush

Mumoftwoboysaged4and5 · 01/12/2022 22:29

M & S Thai fish cakes with their unicorn bao buns and vegetarian spring rolls - costs about £10 but is my favourite treat and is also fairly low fat so I don’t feel guilty (except for the cost)

Spenn · 01/12/2022 22:30

PlasticTatMNBingo · 01/12/2022 22:07

What's a ready meal?

Don't be a dingus Biscuit

My favs are beef stroganoff plus rice or paella - Waitrose do a decent frozen paella 🥘

AdoraBell · 01/12/2022 22:34

Charlie Bingham’s, just about any of their meals. No M&S food hall near me so I haven’t had a ready meal from there for about 25 years.

<goes off to look up M&S ready meal options >
