Got Saturday night to myself (bliss)
Going to buy a dinner from M&S or Waitrose

I'm having pasta tomorrow

What would be your ultimate tv dinner to sit on the sofa with?

Waitrose chicken tikka masala is exquisite. Or m and s spatchcock chicken with fresh bread, alioli and wine. Love m&s lasange. They also do a reasonably priced wagyu burger and you could get some of their buns. For something little different; homemade dishoom so a naan with bacon, egg and chilli jam. If you are a pizza fan I recommend crostica and molina salami, or Chicago Town takeaway style. Never bother with Chinese style ready meals, don't work. I got way too into this response 🤣

If it’s limited to M&S or Waitrose, then I’d go with the following as my favourites (all M&S, have t been to a Waitrose in years):

Prawn bhuna, saag aloo and plain naan
Small pizza (ham and mushroom or spicy beef) with a side of burger spring rolls
Their udon beef noodles are blooming lovely (with a side of prawn crackers)
Toad in the hole, Brussels, roast potatoes and gravy

Waitrose pork and mozzarella meatballs are delicious. Lovely with a nice salad or baby potatoes or rice.

I was also going to suggest the M&S Gastro kyiv. Although technically not a ready meal I suppose, but they're incredibly tasty. One of those with some of those microwave baby potatoes and some salad and a glass of wine, perfect🍷

I can only find a Charlie Bigham fish pie for 2, does he do them for 1?

He does but they are quite small portions, OP. Too late now but if you were to order again I'd go full size!

M&S cottage pie or beef and potatoes in a giant Yorkshire pud.
Cod or scampi and chips.
Birds Eye chicken quarter pounders on a bun.
Egg or beans on toast. Or an egg and sausage sandwich. Or egg and sausage with hash browns.
