Can I see under your stairs?

Following on from the fabulous bedroom thread which gave me so much inspiration!

we have a slanted space under our stairs that is very badly used to chuck shoes/bags etc in and it looks a mess. We have some of those shoe holders but they seem to be stuffed full of shoes that are not in regular use. I feel like we could do so much with the space but I’m not sure how!! Anyone want to share how you organise this space?

Nope.

DH put the shelves in. The sticky out bit on the shelf is to hold the ironing board up.

I read this is 'under your skirts' 🫣🫣🫣. Suffice it to say I need to stop watching my serial killer series 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Ours is inaccessible in the house as it's the space for the outside loo. What I want though is the sliding drawer things for shoe storage and the like. That's my dream...

Love this

Lessoftheold · 25/11/2022 23:23

Love the cat shelf @PriamFarrl 😍

TimeToFlyNow · 25/11/2022 23:36

It was turned into an office room

Well if it's in the spirit of the bedroom thread then here is mine. Not much storage though!

currently have a tumble dryer , want to turn into a reading nook while saving up to have a wc put in. Also love Bowood House, must be amazing to live there, great garden envy.

DimSumAndGT · 26/11/2022 00:17

We have a cat flap in ours and it’s the cats ‘bathroom’ we keep tools in there as well.

LynetteScavo · 26/11/2022 07:29

No you can't see under my stairs. Even I can see under my stairs. There a cupboard with no light, filled with 2000 shoes. Some bastard keeps separating the shoe pairs and flinging them to the opposite sides of the cupboard. The number of times I've mutter "there must be better way" is to many to count. The electricity meter is also on the back wall, so I'm limited as to what I can do with it.

TheNoodlesIncident · 26/11/2022 08:29

Thank you for that link @Muchtoomuchtodo , I've made a note of the company who've done your storage. I hope yours looks as magnificent as the photos on the site!

@JesusInTheCabbageVan Envy The Sainsbury's bag offers that essential glorious finishing touch...

Muchtoomuchtodo · 26/11/2022 08:44

@TheNoodlesIncident they really are that good and the planning and fitting was extremely straightforward.

We went from having what resembled a bomb site underneath our stairs to a clean, tidy area that uses the space far more efficiently.

Highly recommended

We don't have a shed/garage, so under the stairs is where the lawnmower etc lives. And the toaster 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have a (very small) toilet!

Same, it’s never used and I would much prefer storage… We would take it out and turn it into a little room for storage but we worry it would devalue the house

Dilbertian · 26/11/2022 09:58

We have an understairs cupboard (kneeling height - not a Harry Potter bedroom) with an Ikea Trofast stepped unit against the back wall. Storage for all sorts of household stuff that we bulk buy from Costco.

But what I would really love is something like this.

TakingThePlunge22 · 26/11/2022 10:00

God no! I couldn't fit Harry Potter's wand in there let alone a full sized wizard!

It is a mahoosive tip...I repurchased a tall, slim bathroom unit to house my baking stuff but otherwise its just a random heap of shite

@TimeToFlyNow Love that mini office idea!

Heres mine. It’s the bike garage for me and ds.

Pictures taken today. We are lucky having two cupboards under the stairs.

It's one of 3 mini office rooms, for some reason it won't let me post them all at once . Here's number 2

Do you have a link to the bedroom thread? I’m struggling with layout in min3 and would love some inspiration.

AdoraBell · 14/01/2023 23:46

We keep the Christmas tree and decorations in the cupboard. Also vacuum cleaner. I’ll post a photo later, CBA getting off the sofa right now.
