Can I see under your stairs?

Following on from the fabulous bedroom thread which gave me so much inspiration!

we have a slanted space under our stairs that is very badly used to chuck shoes/bags etc in and it looks a mess. We have some of those shoe holders but they seem to be stuffed full of shoes that are not in regular use. I feel like we could do so much with the space but I’m not sure how!! Anyone want to share how you organise this space?

A toilet. It’s small. Used to be old, but I recently did dark blue with wild wallpaper and now it’s one of my favourite tiny spaces in the house

No, there’s a bike in the hall and I can’t open the door under the stairs unless I move the bike outside. It’s known as the Harry Potter cupboard!

Camping stuff, suitcases and the electric meter.

Here's mine fitted by a local guy. Designed to hold my kids hockey crap and shies, hats brollies etc

I shelved mine and made it into a walk in pantry.

Ours is horrible, it's got stuff like suitcases in there

We have a large cupboard under the stairs. I was busy when we moved so DH packed stuff in it. To this day I still don't know what ... but the front of it is a small utility - tumble dryer; storage; etc.

Ours has been turned into a pantry in the kitchen. Shelves built into the stairs and then cupboards underneath

We have the electric meter, a carrier bag full of carrier bags, a set of plastic drawers, the sewing machine, the Hoover, the spin dryer and a big crate full of shoes. The fridge freezer is at the other side of the room and there's a door leading to the downstairs loo. It's a mess but I just close the door and forget about it.

I would love those pull out cupboards/drawers fitted. Would someone who's had them done give me a rough idea of cost? Hundreds? Thousands? Dare I even dream and go as far as getting a quote!

Here's ours, all made by me and DH. Not finished yet as we need to sand and paint. But I love it! It's really quite deep, about 80cm, so can fit loads of stuff in there.

Ours was 2 thousand euros, it was custom made to fit so I don't think it was too bad. It's provided a lot of storage in our small house.

Mine always used to be where all the miscellaneous crap went & space to hang coats.

I feel in love with my under stairs storage area when we moved in, but I'm not showing it! Every year it gets a tidy as the christmas things are kept at the back!

That's so pretty ... Makes me wish I had a space under my stairs to do this. You even have candles! Although, I have to know.... What's behind the curtain? Please tell me it leads to the secret annexe....

Not helpful to you, but I live in a double-fronted house; so the underneath of the stairs is in my kitchen. I have a larder fridge standing there.
