If you could wake up with one thing tomorrow, what would it be?

For me, perfect eyesight.

I'm not even especially horrifically short-sighted, but to be able to avoid the faff of finding your glasses / putting your contacts in / wafting around like an eejit and just... seeing the world like a Disney princess every morning as soon as you open your eyes would be AMAZING.

(And yes, I've checked, I'm not suitable for laser surgery, unfortunately.)

You?

My cancer gone

Permission to change my shallow answer and instead say that I also would wish that I could wake up in the morning knowing your cancer had disappeared. Much love to you x

8 hours of sleep under my belt

A live in Nanny.
No good saying Chris Hemsworth, we'd still have three kids to sort and a house to clean. So I'll take the Nanny and keep DH.

My tumor has gone with chemo, radiotherapy and Brachytherapy, however I've now got lymph nodes "lighting up" in my most recent scan.
I wish they were gone too.

A clone to do all the things I have to do but don't want to

I thought this was an amazing answer and then I got caught up in whether my clone would have human rights and the ethics of making a sentient being and then using them as a slave. It got heavy.

I'd like my Mum back.

It should be world peace and an end to poverty but I’d not refuse a flat stomach or a decent singing voice.

To not have to start chemotherapy on Wednesday. I have a 7 month old baby, I’m petrified of it and I’m not sure I’ll cope. I’ve never been so terrified I’d give anything to not have to do it.

HP79 · 22/11/2022 00:03

@WorryMcGee

You will be able to do it, I promise. It may be tough, but you've got this!

Wishing you all the best and I wish all the best to everyone else posting above about their cancer and ill health.

My hearing back in my left ear! Woke up in the middle of the night 4 years ago, completely deaf in that ear with permanent tinnitus in it. After many tests the conclusion was, a virus. Having to still wear a face mask at work it's incredibly frustrating!

FinallyFluid · 22/11/2022 00:15

The ability to be able to eat protein again, lost it to vicious treatment for head and neck cancer seven years ago, if I had known that my last steak was going to be my last steak I would have had two.😂

I haven't had, beef, lamb, chicken, duck, etc., or even dense fish, (fucking sick of sea bass) for seven years.

I really miss food, even soft stuff needs a slug of water with every mouthful.

Risslan · 22/11/2022 00:18

Motivation. For work, and house clearance mainly.

poshme · 22/11/2022 00:19

Very lightweight, but perfect eyesight would be amazing for me. Worn thick glasses since age 4. Can't imagine waking up and just seeing things perfectly.

But if I had one wish that would work, it would be that cancer just didn't exist. For everyone on this thread, and my friends with it, and those I have lost
