If true, why has no one been expelled?

Private school sanctions a number of boys after investigation into misogynistic language and racial slurs.

Eton College has apologised and “sanctioned” a number of pupils after allegations that a group of girls visiting from a nearby state school were subjected to misogynistic language, racial slurs and jeering.

The boys’ private school near Windsor, Berkshire, told the BBC that an investigation took place into the incident which occurred during a speech by Nigel Farage last week.

A person, who said they were a parent of one of the girls who attended the speech, wrote on social media anonymously that the students were booed inside the lecture theatre and were subjected to “racial slurs” and “generally misogynistic comments”. They said of the private school pupils: “Their behaviour was awful.”
The poster also said that Eton boys had cheered Farage’s “worst comments on migrants and Covid”.

The college told the BBC it had apologised “unreservedly” for the “totally unacceptable” behaviour.

WTAF?

Is there actually something wrong with you?

Softplayhooray · 18/11/2022 20:57

Why was Nigel Farage there in the first place? Sounds like the school is just a breeding ground for the Bullingdon club, right down to trying to humiliate and intimidate girls with less social capital than them. What a revolting story.

I’m trying not to ride to the bait. But what a wanker.

Wtf

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/11/2022 21:00

IKR @EssexCat but speaking as a South London girl, I wouldn't have spat on one of these misogynists if he was on fire.

<sits on hands>

I will avoid the bait now.

FlorettaB · 18/11/2022 21:01

Have you seen the Tory Cabinets over the last few years? Full of misogynistic, racist, entitled men, bloated on privilege and dripping with contempt for ordinary people. Lots of those men went to Eton.

@skinnyminnie22 is posting provocative comments on most of the threads. Best ignored

Me neither. I grew up near a renowned public school and I’m still very off that ‘type’

barskits · 18/11/2022 21:03

What an utter disgrace. They should be expelled.

Fucks sake

SerendipityJane · 18/11/2022 21:06

Expelled ? This is fucking Eton. They'll be marked out for high office.

To be honest I was amazed they were as cheap as £40,000 a year. Didn't realise they were in the bargain bin of schools. I wouldn't want my kids going there and mixing with people that can afford a mere £40,000 a year.

Where are the schools that charge £100,000 a year ?

GravyDramas · 18/11/2022 21:08

Showing their true colours before they’ve even graduated. Nasty, entitled little runts. Look out for one standing for MP in a town near you soon!

Pinniepotter · 18/11/2022 21:09

How upsetting. What a vile thing to do.

LexMitior · 18/11/2022 21:16

Why is anyone surprised?

I would have been surprised if they hadn't.

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 18/11/2022 21:17

They invited Nigel Farage?
How utterly depressing.

SirGawain · 18/11/2022 21:26

Any school that invites Nigel Farage is setting a pretty low bar standards wise.

StClare101 · 18/11/2022 22:09

Wait, the school invited Nigel Farage to speak? How depressing….

There have been a number of incidents in Sydney recently - creepy, rich private school boy’s harassing girls, sometimes in writing. Apparently an expensive education does not mean you are immune from stupidity because a lot have been caught.

I’d be so disappointed if my boys behaved like this.

BCBird · 18/11/2022 22:11

It is appalling behaviour
As for the pupils being expelled, they pay the teachers' wages so that unlikely. Racism and misogyny what an absolute disgrace. Tge parents should have called the police. If the school.were inviting someone with an opposing view to Farage, I think that is fine as pupils should be given balanced arguments from.different political, view points

BCBird · 18/11/2022 22:13

As for these representing our constituency some time soon. It is depressing but no doubt true.

absolutely this

Livelovebehappy · 18/11/2022 22:13

Nothing wrong with having Farage giving a speech tbh. As long as balanced out by speakers from other political persuasions. The pupils at Eaton aren’t primary school age, they’re 13 plus, so should be able to listen to the opinion of others and decide for themselves. It’s not like Farage is a member of the National front.

LexMitior · 18/11/2022 22:16

The reason people pay for Eton is in many cases to give entitled sociopathy a respectable appearance.

You could probably send boys anywhere else, pay, and get more pleasant people. It is not an accident so many Old Etonians are so absolutely poisonous about, and to, women.

Kendodd · 18/11/2022 22:22

I can't imagine, for a single second, sending my son to Eton. I would hate him to become the sort of man that school produced.
