I'll bet she was incandescent with rage as well.

WhyOY · 12/11/2022 20:39

Fumming

Soubriquet · 12/11/2022 20:40

I like the fact it was deemed important enough for the news.. must have been a slow month

Don’t forget the single chicken to last them for the week for her family of five

Tbf I find their check out approach pretty intimidating 😂

GetThatHelmetOn · 12/11/2022 20:49

A mumsnetter???? Why??? It happens to at least 20% of the people who go to Aldi!

one day I was taking it easy to avoid the issue and the cashier got so fed up she went around the counter and started getting my things out of the trolley. 🤣

There was no queue behind me

MrsMoastyToasty · 12/11/2022 20:50

They didn't have "naice" ham.

TheHateIsNotGood · 12/11/2022 20:55

She obviously "Reported" this speeding incident to the Cashier Police.

What the cashier loaded your shopping onto the belt? I find it intimidating tbh. Always feel pressure to scan my app and pay takes to long as well. You can feel the collective daggers as you rummage for your card.

It's a unpleasant experience shopping in Lidl and Aldi. Unless it's in the new big posh town. They let you pack into your bags!

Alighttouchonthetiller · 12/11/2022 21:25

This is why I shop at Waitrose - no-one throws your shopping at you.

Me too. I always go to the self service checkout at Lidl because I get a bit stressed at the cashiers one.

They just overcharge you for their time 🤣

It's the 'crying and shaking' that makes it a Mumsnetter. Not the actual event.

Junobug · 12/11/2022 21:36

I don't mind it at Aldi. I like the challenge of stacking the checkout with heavy things followed by light items so I can pack my bags properly. I get all my bags out and then say 'go' to the checkout. I have the perfect system.
However, the Tesco cashier started to scan my things before I had finished loading at 9pm with no one else behind me, last week. And that really pissed me off because there was no need.

I see… another Sistine Chapel episode but now in the supermarket??? Okay…

Because of the 'crying and shaking'. Only on here would someone react in such an extreme manner to a minor challenge that the majority of the population would take in their stride.

BlueThursday · 12/11/2022 21:38

Hope she logged it with 111

Comefromaway · 12/11/2022 21:39

I remember seeing that article because it happened just after my own mum ended up with a bruised wrist because an Aldi cashier threw a cam at her.

GetThatHelmetOn · 12/11/2022 21:34

And take their sweet time to scan your shopping.

Once you used to aldi, waitrose is glacially slow. It takes extreme effort to avoid screaming 'just fucking get on with it' at them.

NCFT0922 · 12/11/2022 21:43

@BooksAreSaferThanPeople I just spat out my tea 😂😂😂

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2022 21:52

Shopping at Waitrose using Scan as You Shop is the way to go. No conveyor shenanigans and a free coffee at the end. 👍

I bet she was absolutely fuming after she'd stopped crying and shaking!
