Crowded House for me. DH is cooking and put them on. Amazing voice and lyrics. I haven't heard them for ages.

I recently rediscovered Garbage, I forgot how good they are!

JohnsShirt · 12/11/2022 13:43

I saw them earlier this year, they were brilliant.
I actually clicked to say Pet Shop Boys, who I also saw and wasn't expecting them to be that great, but they really were, so much so I'm seeing them again next year.

I have a story about Neil Tennant. DH and I stayed at a manor house. We'd stayed before. DH and I were singing in the bedroom. Didn't realise our Johnny and June Cash song was so loud. Came down for dinner and couple who own the house were laughing about it. Go into dinner and Neil Tennant and family/friends were sat there. He must have heard 🙈 Glad I didn't do my Dusty impersonation 🤣

Haha, OMG, I'd be so embarrassed!

CuriousMama · 12/11/2022 15:58

I don't embarrass easily 😂

me too! They’re brilliant.

I love Crowded House but the set they played at Glastonbury this year was awful , he needs to remember that hearing your grandchild screech is something you may enjoy because it’s your grandchild - the general public do not want to hear that . I’m currently listening to REM - brilliant .

JaneJeffer · 12/11/2022 16:16

I've been rediscovering Jamie T

Hoolihan · 12/11/2022 17:06

Teenage Fanclub. So good.

I saw Pet Shop Boys at Glasto this year, sort of by accident as it was Sunday night and we were too knackered/addled to move. They were BRILLIANT!

We watched Leo sayer at the bridgewater hall and he was totally fabulous !!! I’m not really old enough to remember him from the early days but enjoyed his music and at 74 he was fabulous on stage !!!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 12/11/2022 17:26

The Corrs! Every time I listen to their tracks I wonder why I don't do so more often.

I saw Texas live years ago. Sharleen is very talented as a singer and musician but she was awful to an audience member and really foul mouthed. Her young dd was in the audience too!

I’m having a big resurgence of Squeeze and The Eagles.

What’s not to love about this ....

rookiemere · 12/11/2022 17:28

Jamiroquai - they're playing at Lytham festival but annoyingly not at the weekend when I'd planned to go. Made me realise how much I really, really liked their stuff, so I may go alone.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 12/11/2022 17:29

Sublime -

ZeusandClio · 12/11/2022 17:29

Tears for Fears - Mad World must be the best song ever.

I'm going that night, and the following one.

CuriousMama · 12/11/2022 17:31

DH loves squeeze. I've seen Glen Tilbrook live once. He wasn't very well but was amazing.

@JohnsShirt I think I have to go - I'm holding out to see if any other tour dates are announced first though.

Madeyoulook · 12/11/2022 17:40

I’ve been playing the Smiths on Alexa all afternoon.

Mydogmylife · 12/11/2022 17:41

Erasure-went a concert many moons ago and they were fab. I’m like a pp, when I do listen to them I think why on earth don’t I play them more often

Madeyoulook · 12/11/2022 17:41

Also REM and The Cranberries.

CuriousMama · 12/11/2022 17:44

I've always loved the Smiths. I'm an 80s lass. Friends wouldn't get ready at mine for a night out as I played them and they hated them 🤣
