Crowded House for me. DH is cooking and put them on. Amazing voice and lyrics. I haven't heard them for ages.

OP posts:

The wombats and London grammar, not particularly old bands but just hadn’t listened to them for ages!

workingeverysingkeday · 12/11/2022 17:49

Skid Row. They're touring and we're absolutely fricking awesome

MadMadMadamMim · 12/11/2022 17:51

Been listening to The Waterboys again. Forgotten how good they were.

GyozaGuiting · 12/11/2022 17:52

@MadMadMadamMim I saw the water boys at a festival this summer and they were great!

KangarooKenny · 12/11/2022 17:55

This is not the point at all, but it’s a music thread !!, so I’m really loving The Killers and their covers. Keep listening to Whole of the Moon and This Charming Man live.

Feysriana · 12/11/2022 17:56

The KLF!!

hassletassle · 12/11/2022 17:58

Chumbawumba. English Rebel Songs 👌

whoami24601 · 12/11/2022 17:58

James! I saw them live at a festival a few years back and they were soooo good! Have been relistening to their greatest hits. Also Savage Garden. Much less cheesy than I remember from my teenage years.

Neighneigh · 12/11/2022 17:58

Catatonia - as it turns out, I still know all the words in International Velvet

I’m having a big resurgence of Squeeze and The Eagles.

What’s not to love about this ....

I'm a massive Squeeze fan

Buzzinwithbez · 12/11/2022 18:48

We saw Pop Will Eat Itself in the summer for the first time. I really enjoyed their set.

One to listen to - The Cranberries

love6421 · 12/11/2022 18:50

Human League. Saw them
at a festival and they were amazing. I'd forgotten how many great songs they've written!

love6421 · 12/11/2022 18:52

sorry, The Human League 🤣

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 12/11/2022 18:54

Disturbed.

I'm currently listening to the download 23 lineup and I forgot how much I loved them

CockSpadget · 12/11/2022 18:59

ZeusandClio · 12/11/2022 17:29

Tears for Fears - Mad World must be the best song ever.

Yes! I always liked them, but other groups took my interest more when they were at their most popular. But after seeing them on one of those 80’s throwback music shows recently, I realised how good they actually are.

FizzyFucker · 12/11/2022 13:42

I recently rediscovered Garbage, I forgot how good they are!

Yes! I listened to Version 2.0 a couple of weeks ago, I forgot how good it was.

My BIL reminded me that New Found Glory exist again recently and I spent a happy few days decorating to their older albums.

HashBrownandBeans · 12/11/2022 19:12

I listen to some proper weird music anyway but ones that I love to listen to now that maybe I didn’t appreciate at the time are
Ace of Base
The Shamen
Morcheeba
Sneaker Pimps
Nizlopi

and bizarrely, Simply Red

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2022 19:15

I was a huge PSB fan back in the day but they had sort of dropped off my music radar. They played Glastonbury this year and were amazing, so they're back.

DS2 has discovered Simple Minds, and that reminded me how good they were too.

RausageSoul · 12/11/2022 19:17

Just this week I rediscovered the Lightning Seeds!

OrangePomander · 12/11/2022 20:20

I forgot about Depeche Mode for many years before rediscovering them, awesome band.

HoratioVelveteen · 12/11/2022 20:20

Prefab Sprout
Paddy McAloon is a brilliant songwriter

TheSausageKingofChicago · 12/11/2022 20:21

The Boo Radleys. Ignore the awful ‘Wake Up Boo’ and the rest is brilliant.

Jesus and Mary Chain have been hitting the spot lately too

NooNakedJacuzziness · 12/11/2022 17:46

OMD - so many good songs

@NooNakedJacuzziness OH is a life long OMD fan, so we've seen them many times - can't believe Andy McCluskey still has the energy to do all that mad dancing at his age!! Was amazed 13 year old DD was willing to go with DH to see them in Edinburgh last year (they didn't come to NI 🙁) but she's now quite keen on them, The Human League and the Lightning Seeds!

caroleanboneparte · 12/11/2022 20:52

Franz Ferdinand
Sleeper
Eternal

StiggyZardust · 12/11/2022 20:59

@Floralnomad we saw Crowded House a few weeks before Glastonbury. They were very lacklustre and I've been a life long fan. Very disappointing.
