Alcohol free drinks thread! What are your favourites?

Hello

I can’t find the really interesting thread of a few years ago where lots of people listed and reviewed their favourite AF drinks. So I wondered if there might be interest in doing the same sort of thing again.

Please tell me your favourite alcohol free drinks? Whether that’s drinks you have because you’re pregnant or are otherwise unable to drink, to save a bit of money, to have a break from alcohol or when you’re designated driver, or any other reason. Can be as basic as a really nice squash or concentrate with fizzy water, or as fancy as fermented kombucha type thingies and begins…

I would love to hear ideas :)

Non alcoholic beer - probably a brew dog one. Although often in a pub there's not much choice and it will be a lager type which I'm getting used to - I was always a "real ale" drinker.

If I'm at someone's house then I'll have fruit juice, but I'd rather have a coffee! Except that's now decaff so they probably won't have that either!!

A couple of Christmases ago dh bought me some non alcoholic gin. It was horrible!! Although it was lavender - something I associate with dabbing behind my ears rather than eating, so maybe other NA gins are OK!!

Roselilly36 · 10/11/2022 09:09

Dalstons cherry, they also do a rhubarb flavour which is very nice too.

Sodafolk are also nice, love the cream soda

I’ll second Tanqueray alcohol free gin. Especially with Fever Tree tonic.

ginandoreos · 10/11/2022 17:29

Contrary to my name I do like a day off here and there!!

There was a similar thread lately.

Can't go wrong with a soda stream - try with various posh cordials, fresh cherry juice, fresh lemon and lime.

Current fave non-alcoholic alternative is a sparkling drink called Bolle - great for booze free celebrations/pregnant friends. It's really refreshing and doesn't leave an after taste. Plus the guy that created it is some kind of wine scientist!

Also like the various kombucha based drinks currently on the market - great for fizz and flavour.

ginandoreos · 10/11/2022 17:30

Oh yes and sodafolk - the black cherry one is delicious!

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 10/11/2022 17:33

I like sanbitter and tonic. It’s a bit like AF Aperol.

mintich · 10/11/2022 17:37

At the moment I love Aldi's Peach Limeade and Lucozade Pink Grapefruit. They remind me of the old Archers Aquas from the early 2000s! And they are low cal too!
I also like Kylies non alcoholic sparkling rosé and most elderflower mocktails

Needhelp101 · 10/11/2022 17:39

Koppaberg non-alcoholic perry is really nice.

Overoptimistix · 10/11/2022 18:31

Crodino is delicious, tastes just like aperol. Sanbitter is good too. I like shandy using non-alcoholic beer and lemonade- very refreshing!

Decafflatteplease · 10/11/2022 18:34

Lime and soda is cheap and cheerful when out.

San Pellegrino are also nice blood orange is my favourite.

Also like j20 but I always have to water them down I find them quite strong

Bostock82 · 10/11/2022 18:36

I like becks blue. And just soda water.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 10/11/2022 18:40

Virgin Pina Colada

LadyPenelope68 · 10/11/2022 18:41

Belvoir Elderflower Presse with lots of ice, delicious!

Montague22 · 10/11/2022 18:43

I like a Shirley Temple

TheZenOne22 · 10/11/2022 18:47

I really enjoy a lot of the non-alcoholic IPA/lagers - Brewdog, Brooklyn, Peroni, Ghostship all do nice ones.

I had Aldi non-alcoholic Prosecco the other day and that was the best one I’ve had.

Otherwise I’ll go for either a sparkling water or a lemon san peligrino

weathervane1 · 10/11/2022 18:48

The Brew dog multipack of four non-alcoholic beers are by far the best in my opinion. A decent range from Citrus beers via hoppy ones to cloudy ones.

ScarierThanBoo · 10/11/2022 18:52

Save: ASDA cherries and berries squash with sparkling water.
Splurge: San Pellegrino orange whatever its called.
I'm a recovering alcoholic and always have the guilty fear with AF versions of normally alcoholic drinks 😕

EndlessMagpies · 10/11/2022 19:02

After having to give up alcohol for medical reasons, my choice of tipple always used to be a slimline tonic with ice and lemon. And now, joy of joys, Gordon's brought out an alcohol-free version of their gin last year.
Ahhhhhhhhh..............mmmmmmm............. Smile

FearofQueefing · 10/11/2022 19:03

Seedlip Non-Alcoholic Gins are lovely 😊

JohnsShirt · 10/11/2022 19:06

I honestly just like water the most, I live in Scotland and we do have great tap water though.
If I'm out and about I sometimes have an oat milk chai latte but that's about it.

I'm so boring, really, you don't want to invite me to your party!

Zazazaz · 10/11/2022 19:10

POM. Interesting and mouth-filling.

VerveClique · 10/11/2022 19:15

G-no-T. So just tonic Grin.

But dress it up with whatever ice and garnish you’d have with. G&T. Still very much a treat!!

VerveClique · 10/11/2022 19:16

Make that T-no-G Grin!!

hobbledyhoy · 10/11/2022 20:01

Tanqueray AF is delicious, I don't really notice the difference
