Henry. Ours is over 30 years old, used nearly every day and has just needed one new hose in all that time.

I've got a sebo felix upstairs, a shark liftaway downstairs and a cylinder Miele for stairs and cars. Wasn’t planned but I’ve inherited a couple this year. All very good, the shark picks up more cat fur than the others but there’s not much in it.

Worst ever was the Henry. I honestly cannot understand the love for them. I ended up leaving it out in the rain ‘by accident’ and taking it to the tip.

We have the Miele Cat and Dog but it can't cope with the dog hair at all. It's pretty good otherwise. I had a Dyson Cordless but it endlessly got blocked up. I'm not sure a hoover exists that can cope with our dogs' hair!

I have a cordless shark. I’d never buy a corded vaccum again.

Miele C3

@RedDwarfGarbagePod I have Henry. He falls over at the drop of a hat. The long hose is great for cobwebs on my high ceilings, and also for doing the edges of rooms. Awkward on the stairs. I've used my sisters shark and found it very heavy and unwieldy as am used to just dragging Henry around. Doesn't pick up from my dense pile carpet in the bedroom. Good and bad points

Paddingtonthebear · 12/11/2022 19:40

Had a shark and definitely wouldn’t buy again. Miele c3 was good but not if you have a lot of carpet. We have a Sebo now and it’s very good but heavy. I had to call their customer service team once though and they were spectacularly rude and unhelpful, which I was not expecting at the price point. But as long as I don’t have to speak to them again I’m happy with the machine itself.

Another vote for a Henry. I have my mother’s Henry. No idea how long they last though as mine was from the mid 80s and has been serviced from time to time. It’s still really sucks.
