Curious about Audi drivers

Every day I come across Audi drivers on the road and they spark a curiosity in me like nothing else. Who are they? What do they do for work and fun? Where do they go on their holidays? Why do they drive like that? How did they pass their test? So many questions and so few answers...
Can anyone shed any light? Do you drive any Audi? and is it white?

Audi drivers are often wankers, but pale in comparison to BMW drivers.
Arrogant twats.

Bluevelvetsofa · 02/11/2022 15:26

Usually, I would just let wanker drivers speed away from traffic lights, knowing that they’d be thinking they’d got one over on a female Audi TT driver. Now and again though, I’d decide to boot it and left them for dust. There’s something that got under their skin and they didn’t like a woman in a Roadster.

Mine was silver and it got me great street cred in the school car park, (teacher) especially with the top down.

Shade17 · 02/11/2022 18:29

Presumably yours was a TT S or RS otherwise you wouldn’t be leaving anything remotely quick for dust.

I wear both badges with pride.

I mainly drive an Audi A1, but the BMW is actually mine.

DH is in the reverse, I'll give him the badges too.

14 reg Audi, well over 100 000 miles, automatic, going like a dream.

HalfWower · 02/11/2022 19:01

Grey Audi
Pilot
For fun - walk my dogs, cook, gardening, caravaning
Holidays - in the last year I've had 4 Uk camping trips, Italian Lakes and Philippines
Past my test the first time

Drive like what?

Ihateboris · 02/11/2022 19:03

Audi RS6 here. Doesn't look flashy but is very fast and lots of room for dogs and shopping bags!

Cats23 · 02/11/2022 19:12

I had a blue Audi until recently, Im a private carer and a good driver ( If I do say so myself!)
I have a family member who drives a white Audi and a few friends, 1 owns a salon , 1x in childcare and 1 had a haulage buisness- All great drivers!

I came across an utter dick in a white Fiat Panda yesterday...., just saying🤣

Definitely from the kids - not the adults 😂

@Shade17, you'd be surprised!

vipersnest1 · 02/11/2022 21:50

@JiggingJigsaws, I've noticed that the people who feel the need to overtake me the most are those who drive a black BMW.
I really can't be bothered at my age to engage in a contest as to who's balls are bigger regardless of gender, so let them crack on.

OOvavuuu · 02/11/2022 23:32

On the way home from work tonight, silver Audi in front, driving very respectfully. There I was, pondering, might I have been a bit harsh with my generalisation of Audi drivers? Then within moments, coming towards me, a white Audi, careering around the bend on her mobile phone and drove up the kerb! 👏Fabulous effort.

@HalfWower You're given a pass. Especially as a keen gardener and caravan owner. I never really imagined an Audi driver to like gardening. I assumed it would be all plastic flowers in hanging baskets or fake topiary from B&M out the front of house that's had the whole front turned into a driveway.

Really? I expect my 20 year old car would beat yours.

But then I know that, and would not race on a public road.

My parents in their late 70s both drive Audis too and are garden obsessives. They have no truck with plastic flowers.

@Shade17, you'd be surprised!

I know exactly how quick a non S or RS TT is - or rather how slow they are!

squashyhat · 03/11/2022 17:12

My friend has an Audi TT. We call it his Hairdressers Car (although he's not and never has been a hairdresser). He complains it gives him a "two hour arse" i.e. he can't drive it for longer than 2 hours at a time without needing a bum stretch Grin

AlexandraJJ · 03/11/2022 17:24

I’ve always had Audis. Current one I’ve had the longest and love it, it’s a convertible. I’ve found other Audi drivers courteous to me except one RS6 tanking up my rear. Beamers however always in my boot! I’m Head of Dept NHS, last holiday was 2021 Anglesey cottage couldn’t afford anything else as a single mum. Drive Audi as love the interior of them, keep looking at other cars but always feel a draw back to Audi, maybe next car will be different.

Audi driver here (mines black 😂) and I've honestly never understood comments like this. There's loads of idiots on the road in all types of cars, not just Audi's. I like to think I'm a decent driver, sensible, patient. I nearly got taken out the other day on a roundabout by a bloke in the wrong lane. He was in a complete world of his own and it wasn't an Audi that he was driving 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Come on! It was BMW drivers up to about 2005 / 2010, but since then it's Audi drivers. I used to think that they were a really desirable car brand - good quality and fairly luxurious, without being OTT. But they are now associated with appalling drivers and on a par with Citroen, Seat, Lada and all american car brands - in the gutter.

Bideshi · 03/11/2022 18:08

White Audi Q3. Would love an Audi TT but no room for dogs and trees (various). Shop at the Co-op or farmers' market. Live very rurally so tend to go on holiday to European cities. Usually drive carefully because the roads round here are iffy, but DH has points for speeding.
I think I'm missing something though. Didn't know Audi drivers were supposed to be notorious. Obviously I need to start driving more aggressively or I'll be demoted to a tiny Fiat.

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2022 18:17

My FIL is a train driver and a very good driver, and a considerate person.

CurryandSnuggle · 03/11/2022 18:18

^ and he drives an Audi, I meant to add.

Shiningstarr · 03/11/2022 21:30

I don't drive an Audi, but I do drive a BMW which is far superior.

Garden journalist, plant hunter, 3 BBC Gardeners World gigs. Need the Audi Q to accommodate magnolias, ginkos, nothofagus and tree ferns. Front garden not tarmac but rolling acres of formal garden. Yew topiary.
Give me a pass please op. Feeling quite deflated at your suggestion of plastic hanging baskets😕

Singinghollybob · 03/11/2022 22:32

Haha I'm a white Audi driver! Had it almost 2 years.
I'm a nurse and I go to various places on holiday, not all inclusive or package holidays though!

For fun I like seeing friends, going for walks, going to the gym and the pub.

I think I'm a pretty good driver. Happy to reverse drive reverse park and parallel park, never had a speeding ticket or crash or parking fine.

Your OP made me laugh!
