Curious about Audi drivers

Every day I come across Audi drivers on the road and they spark a curiosity in me like nothing else. Who are they? What do they do for work and fun? Where do they go on their holidays? Why do they drive like that? How did they pass their test? So many questions and so few answers...
Can anyone shed any light? Do you drive any Audi? and is it white?

@ChecoPerez As much as this thread is changing my mind about Audi's (and their drivers) I would go for the Tesla.

I love Reykjavik. Best place on earth.

Enjoy! I'm tempted to book to go again next December. Next year might be hard for our business due to rising costs so will wait until spring and cross my fingers.

Ahh - to add!

I work in marketing. Just come back from Bali, regularly holiday in turkey and enjoy lots of smaller city breaks. Travelling is my thing! 😍

Audi TT quatro s-line black edition here! Owned it for 2 weeks!! After previously having Audi's but straying for a few years, I'm SO glad I've gone back to Audi!

I absolutely adore it. Gorgeous dark metallic grey colour with gloss black detailing. Definitely a 'looker' and I agree with PP - many times already have I been 'raced' off the line at traffic lights! ConfusedGrin I'd like to think I'm a safe, sensible considerate driver though!

Well Jel!!! 😁.

They are head turners aren't they?

ChecoPerez · 31/10/2022 22:19

@OOvavuuu there's too many of them on the road here! I've told him if he wants the Tesla, to trade in his little hot hatch! You should have seen the look I got for that!

hattie43 · 31/10/2022 22:20

Grey Audi Q5 here . Love my
Audi although she needs a good clean right now .
Such a random thread lol

I have a white Audi (with fully working indicators, possibly a factory error?). I am a lowly NHS worker, shop in Tesco and holiday at home when I can get the time off! And I LOVE my car. It makes me smile, it's a million miles away from the sensible, large booted, 'mum' cars I've had the last 20+ years so you can say all you like I don't care <sticks fingers in ears and blows a raspberry>.

Pfft, BMW drivers...

fucketyfuckwit · 31/10/2022 22:22

I've always liked nice cars. F1 fan too.

2pinkginsplease · 31/10/2022 22:22

Audi driver here, and it’s a white one. I do also know how to drive and how to use my indicators too. I work in early years and mainly holiday in the UK, occasionally abroad. I think I’m a great driver, been complimented many times and passed my test 19yrs ago.

I find that it’s normally BMW drivers that are the arrogant , non indicator using type! 😂

vipersnest1 · 31/10/2022 22:24

I owned a Tango Red A3 sportback that I absolutely loved. When it was getting towards the end of its life, I traded it in for the cliché white Audi - an S line A3 sportback. The performance is equivalent to my old car (but no longer road tax free, sadly). I don't feel the same way about it as my old car. Sad
I'm a conservative driver, enjoy going to places I haven't visited before (especially as a part of a cruise).
As PP have mentioned, I find that black BMWs seem to feel the need to overtake me, but hey, crack on with it. I'm not interested in racing someone who sees their car as an extension of their penis.

Sunflowers765 · 31/10/2022 22:25

TT personalised plate. And I shop at Waitrose of course. GrinGrin

Windtunnel · 31/10/2022 22:29

I quite like the design of them but would never drive one coz of their awful image and some the behaviours some audi drivers exhibit.

I am working to overcome my prejudice that triggers the word "idiot" when I see one.
Sorry....

Dfg15 · 31/10/2022 22:30

9 times out of ten if someone is tailgating me it’s an Audi! And I do not hog the middle lane or drive slowly

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 31/10/2022 22:31

I'm an Audi driver - there are always people on local social media complaining about Audi drivers. I don't understand.

I only notice other drivers behaving like 'no nobs' when I'm driving my Porsche.

YuzuP · 31/10/2022 22:32

I dithered between an Audi Q something and a merc in my last car purchase scenario but the merc servicing costs were a lot cheaper for some reason (I always thought they were much of a muchnwss), Q somethings are unreliable on some list and most of all, Robin’s boyfriend on the Strike mysteries really wanted one.

She says this when Strike is admiring her Defender. “Matt hates it. He really wants an Audi.” Or words to that effect. All Audis, for the rest of my natural life are off the cards. So lucky Audi drivers. Was there ever a dafter reason to discount a car brand?

OOvavuuu · 31/10/2022 22:38

@ChecoPerez Too right. I wouldn't expect anything less from an Audi driver 👊

Pretty much 70% of our company drive Audis (company car). They had an acceptable carbon emission rating for our targets. We employ over 7000 people. All very different people, sex, age, hair/eye colour, living location, income. I don’t have one, as wanted a different spec of car, and luckily I was allowed it. The majority weren’t bothered though, there are some good Audi cars, and some bad ones, but I’d say they’re mostly ok to drive and reliable.

Alanisthebestdog · 31/10/2022 22:53

Audi Q5here, blue. Hybrid too. It’s my second Q5 and I love it. I have dogs and it has a good boot space for them, and is comfy to drive. I’m in my 60s and (imho) a safe driver, keep to the speed limits and don’t tail gate. I see other who do however. Oh and I mainly shop in Aldi!

Icequeen01 · 31/10/2022 22:56

We used to have 2! My DH had his dream car, a brand new Audi A5 sport back in a gorgeous navy colour. He had it for a year and had to sell it as he kept putting his back out due to it being so low. 🤣 He now has what he calls an age appropriate car - a white VW Tiguan.

I have a grey Audi Q3 which I love. I also bought this new and have had it for 9 years now and have no desire to get a new one.

We holiday in Italy 😀 and we both are considerate drivers ...... most of the time.

I have a Q3, love it, don’t all cars have some sort of stigma? I was going to get a Volvo XC40 but then I’d be a Volvo driver - whatever that is, DH was adamant not to get a Honda, Jazz drivers are old and shouldn’t be driving so that ruled out any Honda model. I won’t drive anything that looks like a knicker salesmens car, (or any salesmen cars for that matter) so that rules out a lot of saloons (any make)

Holidays are anything from camping to a hotel in the sunshine, and city breaks - New York.

Shopping is done between Lidl and Waitrose.

Buteverythingsfine · 31/10/2022 23:06

I drive an Audi auto because I'm lazy!
