If you eat and buy chocolate bars, do you buy Mars Bars?

Lighthearted because anyone gets too tied up in knots and asks me for peer-reviewed evidence.

I was raiding sorting through the trick or treat bowl earlier and nabbed a Mars Bar, for quality control purposes. It dawned on me that despite a lifelong love of chocolate, and regularly buying bars, I’ve never actually purchased a Mars Bar.

Then I was thinking about my family and how I’ve never seen any of them eat a Mars.

I used to work in a corner shop during uni and we sold Mars but they were never a good seller- Twix, Dairy Milk, Snickers yeah, but not Mars Bars. Seemed to be more popular with 20-something male construction workers grabbing a meal deal, IIRC.

Anyway, like I said, lighthearted but for the chocolate bar buyers out there, any diehard Mars Bar fans?

Mars is my go-to chocolate. I had a duo yesterday on a day out.

I do, but not as a chocolatey treat, only as an emergency lunch or similar

I alternate between Mars and snickers when I buy chocolate which is too often

Love a Mars, but only if it’s cold out of the fridge. Wouldn’t buy one from the shop to eat ‘on the go’ as a result!

No, I find the full size bars too sugary for me.

I’ll eat the tiny ones from the Celebrations boxes, but that’s as far as I go with Mars bars.

Mars bars were my treat of choice while dieting. Cut a bar in to bitesize pieces and freeze them. They're super sweet so satisfied my sweet tooth as they slowly melted in my mouth 🤤

No I usually buy a twirl or a bounty. I do buy Mars ice creams though.

I rarely buy a Mars Bar, but when I do I always think "I thought buy one more often!". Dairy Milk is my go to though.

I used to when I was a kid but nowadays we only buy bars of plain dark chocolate, sometimes with nuts in or salt or chilli but never any other type of confectionary.

I don't really eat them (I find them quickly sickly), but have a newborn and had a sudden urge for one during a night feed a few days ago. Think it was my body's way of telling me I needed the sugar! Sent my husband out early the next morning to stock up.

We buy Aldi Titan bars. They are exactly the same but cheaper.

I like the little ones in the celebrations tins but probably wouldn't get the a big bar, tend to go for kit kats on the rare occasion I buy a bar of chocolate (as opposed to buying a big family bag and just breaking small bits off at a time). We did get some of Mars ice cream bars in the summer though and they were lovely.

Every so often I would fancy a mars- & then find one bite was enough!

I love Mars Bars but I haven't bought one for years.

Remember in the 90s, weren't they being marketed almost like a health food 'the goodness' of the milk in it helped you work, rest and play!

I often buy Mars Bars if I'm craving chocolate. They're great with tea.

No but I should! I hate them so they have a chance of not being binged on.

No. I love chocolate but I generally dislike most of the celebration chocolates (Milky Way is the worst offender!)
If I was buying a chocolate bar it would be a galaxy or kit kat.

But I'll only buy them when they are on offer.

My favourite thing to do is put them in the freezer. Then I bite off the top layer of chocolate and suck the rest.

I've never intentionally bought a Mars bar but I can distinctly remember being momentarily stunned by how amazing and chocolatey the first Mars Bar ice creams were.

They soon went on my Must Not Buy So Cannot Eat list.
