According to dh it’s not normal that I have an urgent need to go in the morning. He tends to wait till he’s been up a few hours

OP posts:

I think you married an alien. An alien who must have very smelly wee.

FfeminyddCymraeg · 18/10/2022 19:16

Poo or wee?

Wee, yes. Poo, no.

Shitfather · 18/10/2022 19:17

First thing I do without fail.

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/10/2022 19:17

🤔DH is nuts

Allmarbleslost · 18/10/2022 19:17

Totally normal! Your dh must be dehydrated.

NoSquirrels · 18/10/2022 19:17

Everyone pees first thing.

BeautifulElephant · 18/10/2022 19:17

Has he met humans before?

AgathaX · 18/10/2022 19:19

He's dehydrated. Or weird.

U1sce · 18/10/2022 19:19

Perfectly normal to go within the first 20-30 mins of waking up, but I generally go within 5 mins of waking.

lannistunut · 18/10/2022 19:20

Your DH is being weird about this.

Sunnysal · 18/10/2022 19:20

Everyone I know wakes up and pees!

AquaticSewingMachine · 18/10/2022 19:21

Of course it's normal, unless you've been up to pee in the night. Urine has been accumulating in your bladder for many hours.

Mistywindow · 18/10/2022 19:22

Christ! I go at least once in the night too.

Ridiculous that he has to turn it into an argument and also, he must be seriously dehydrated. I bet his first morning wee stinks!

BrokenWing · 18/10/2022 19:22

I'm impressed if I can make it all the way until morning before I need to get up and pee!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 18/10/2022 19:22

I usually go and wee when I get up but not always as soon as I wake up, I don’t usually need to wee urgently and can often wait an hour or more if I have time to lounge about in bed before getting up. When somewhere the toilet isn’t easily accessible (eg: campsite) I may wait a couple of hours before going to wee. That said it can vary, some mornings I wake up desperate and couldn’t wait. I don’t usually need to poo as soon as I wake up.

FinallyHere · 18/10/2022 19:23

Absolutely normal to be woken up by the urge to 'pee'. I try and train my bladder to hold on a few minutes. Seldom manage more than a few minutes.

How much does he drink each day? How often does he empty his bladder overnight? Is the urine the recommended very pale straw colour and mostly odourless ?

Please don't tell me, these are just things which might explain his, yes, unusual behaviour.

french76 · 18/10/2022 19:24

First thing for everyone in my family!

ShineyCrab · 18/10/2022 19:24

How many babies has he gestated and allowed to wreak havoc on his pelvic floor?

RichardMarxisinnocent · 18/10/2022 19:25

FfeminyddCymraeg · 18/10/2022 19:16

Poo or wee?

Wee, yes. Poo, no.

Why do you say poo, no? I get that it may not be normal for some people, but it will be normal for others, so I don't think you can generalise that it's never normal.

To answer the OP, surely pretty much everyone wees when they get up, and for some people it would be normal to poo not long after getting up too.

rainbowandglitter · 18/10/2022 19:30

I always wee as soon as I wake up.

thelobsterquadrille · 18/10/2022 19:33

Everyone's different. I always need to pee first thing and once during the night too - I've been that way ever since I can remember!

DH always needs a poo once he's out of bed.

DodgyLeftLeg · 18/10/2022 19:36

Assuming an average 7 hours a night, who only needs a wee every 12 hrs! Serious dehydration.

ALongHardWinter · 18/10/2022 19:39

First thing I have to do when I wake up!

AmberGer · 18/10/2022 19:40

I need to poo when I wake up.
Every morning.
Regular as clockwork.

YukoandHiro · 18/10/2022 19:40

Your DH is going to give himself a UTI
