she goes and says this:
twitter.com/___Mezzala/status/1582415198530699264?t=mSnObi-H3Pom40sjaUoRoA&s=19

“I’m afraid it’s the Labour Party, it’s the Lib Dems, it’s the Coalition of chaos, it’s the Guardian-reading, Tofu-eating, wokerati - dare I say the anti-growth coalition that we have to thank for the disruption we are seeing on our roads today!”

We need to get these cheeky fuckers out of office forever.
What a great response from the shadow Home Sec

It's disgusting the way she speaks - she's in parliament to serve us all - including Guardian readers and tofu-eaters. She holds everyone in contempt and wants hauling out from there. I loved Yvette Cooper's response though.

Wilkolampshade · 18/10/2022 20:09

Oh I don't know OP, everytime she opens her gob she insults and distances herself from more and more of the electorate. They don't seem to have the slightest idea how out of touch they are with most right thinking, normal people. Bring it on. Pass them a shovel, let 'em keep digging.

Isn’t she a Buddhist? I find her so far removed from what I understand Buddhist principles to be. Mind you, lots of the Tories claim to be Christians too, so . . .

PestorPeston · 18/10/2022 20:16

Someone is going to have to take Suella to one side and point out that if everyone else is ALWAYS the problem, maybe the PROBLEM isn't everyone else.

AgapanthusandAcers · 18/10/2022 20:17

She's an odious human being and considering her high level of education etc, she comes across as very unintelligent. She is vile and totally devoid of humanity and compassion.

lannistunut · 18/10/2022 20:20

She's a fucking muppet. This Tory government is completely embarrassing, I am sick of hearing their rubbish.

NashvilleQueen · 18/10/2022 20:21

I really love Yvette Cooper.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/10/2022 20:22

She is absolutely fucking bonkers.

Well done to Cooper.

Shall we all get badges and become members of the tofu eating wokerati. Rather that than a Tory head case.

Guavafish1 · 18/10/2022 20:24

Last days of rome

soundsystem · 18/10/2022 20:28

I've got a badge making machine lurking somewhere... I think tofu-eating wokerati would look good on a pin badge!

ButterYourMuffin · 18/10/2022 20:28

I've just finished my tofu stir fry and couldn't be more delighted that it is now a badge of honour - might have to get myself a jumper saying "proud member of the tofu eating wokerati" 😀

ButterYourMuffin · 18/10/2022 20:29

@soundsystem - must have cross posted but if you get your badge making machine out please DM me😁

AnyFucker · 18/10/2022 20:30

What was Yvettes response ?

FreddyHG · 18/10/2022 20:31

It doesn't go down with the wokerati of Mumsnet but I agree with Suella. The outrage here on Mumsnet simply isn't reflected in the real world where people take personal responsibility and go and earn money to progress in life. Her view on this point seems to be agreed upon over the evening coffee table on the office today.

Are you for real?🤔
It's the fault of people that aren't even in power? You lot have jumped the shark now

This site really doesn't reflect society the uproar after the conservatives got elected last time and it's general anti Brexit viewpoint of people on here just doesn't reflect polling results. She was discussing the public order bill which I agree with should limit the rights of these hippies and tofu eating wokerati who are claiming Dartford crossing and causing disruption labour are opposing parts of it so she is right to have a go at labour over that.

I rather thought I did live in the real world, where we’ve worked hard to do well in life.
Her views are abhorrent and hugely destructive to individual and national improvement.

JennyForeigner · 18/10/2022 20:39

True story, I once had to spend several days in a row with Suella Braverman.

Dumb as a rock and painfully unpleasant. Just genuinely as awful as you think.

In my real world of work, where we take personal responsibility and earn money to live, we are too bloody busy working to talk around the coffee table - if we had a coffee table. If your are all sat around the coffee table chatting, perhaps you ought to get back to work?

Fulmar · 18/10/2022 20:44

I have read the Guardian a couple of times in the past but don't anymore as it's a rag of the left just as the Mail is a rag of the right. I do eat tofu though. Not on Twitter so can't see the full text of SB or YC. However, the protestors on the roads are totally out of order - if they have a point to make then they should do it another way where it can be debated properly - or are they scared of that? These "I'm right, you're wrong, so anything I do to protest is legitimate, even holding up ambulances and fire engines" protests are the sign of a failing society, and these protestors are doing nothing to further their cause or make people's lives better. They are little better than fascists, trying to impose their will on everyone via intimidation and disruption. And that goes for any cause, whether I believe in it or not.

Lawandsawdus · 18/10/2022 20:46

It would be funny if she didn’t have as power and there weren’t people suffering consequences. I hate tofu but I think I might try it again.

You may well think that, her views are hardly abhorrent. This is just the politics of extremes you don't like her so use extremist language she probably doesn't share your political viewpoint. Either way the kangaroo court of Mumsnet isn't going to give a representative hearing the conservatives were handed an 80 seat majority at the last election by a largely conservative public. They value law and order, they value personal responsibility and generally like conservative values. For 12 years Mumsnet has complained about austerity, evil Tories and the country has said "meh not that bothered " and voted them back in.
