she goes and says this:
twitter.com/___Mezzala/status/1582415198530699264?t=mSnObi-H3Pom40sjaUoRoA&s=19

“I’m afraid it’s the Labour Party, it’s the Lib Dems, it’s the Coalition of chaos, it’s the Guardian-reading, Tofu-eating, wokerati - dare I say the anti-growth coalition that we have to thank for the disruption we are seeing on our roads today!”

We need to get these cheeky fuckers out of office forever.
What a great response from the shadow Home Sec

What do you expect???! Somebody works hard all their life, saves their money, buys a house and then learns that developers are going to build 500 new builds on their doorstep, including social housing (which will include 'problem families'). So instead of fields and trees, they've now got houses and noise and cars all round them. What do you think they're going to do? Dance with joy?

It is difficult to come up with people to blame on the left locally to me, in a lovely rural and madly Conservative area, with a Conservative government who have been in power for 12 years. The Government can make local councils of any ilk allow as much building in an area as they see fit, regardless of the local populations view, so if you don't like any development they are probably responsible. But don't let facts get in the way of a good rant !

Isn’t she a Buddhist? I find her so far removed from what I understand Buddhist principles to be. Mind you, lots of the Tories claim to be Christians too, so . . .

Member of an slightly iffy Buddhist sect formed by a very dodgy bloke from Tooting called Dennis if Wikipedia is to be believed.

I'd vote for whichever party would send in a sharp shooter.

Sorry but if you want to insult people, perhaps you could try to be coherent? This post makes zero sense. But far be it from me to suggest that the only people supporting Braverman have a similar low level of intelligence.

Exactly. I read that post three times then gave up. It made fuck all sense. Gobbledegook

Although if the Conservatives had people with enough nous to know that using own goal terms like 'chaos' and 'anti-growth coalition' after the 23rd of September, was a really bad idea, we probably wouldn't all be in the mess we are now.
I mean this is absolutely basic stuff isn't it ?

We'd leave as in emigrate if she became PM. She's a dim version of Pritti Patel as Home Office Minister.

Imagine if the Tories installed her as their next lame duck PM. It would almost be worth it for the lolz 🤪😂

Suella is the worst. I dislike her even more than Priti Patel, which is something I thought I'd never say.

I must give her credit for trying to hide her police state bill behind an unpopular fuel protest though. There will be voters who think this is all about stopping people chaining themselves to bridges or gluing themselves to motorways. They don't realise it will also stop the right of nurses to protest against cuts to the NHS, or a local demonstration about new housebuilding.

If you take away the right to public protest you might as well live under a dictatorship.

This site really doesn't reflect society the uproar after the conservatives got elected last time and it's general anti Brexit viewpoint of people on here just doesn't reflect polling results. She was discussing the public order bill which I agree with should limit the rights of these hippies and tofu eating wokerati who are claiming Dartford crossing and causing disruption labour are opposing parts of it so she is right to have a go at labour over that.

Electoral Calculus forecasts show only ONE Tory MP would survive a general election on current polling. So you're right, Mumsnet isn't reflecting society, its not far enough to the left! Your coffee table mates will be feeling a bit silly.

Tegelflughafen · 18/10/2022 23:49

They value law and order, they value personal responsibility and generally like conservative values.
@FreddyHG lol 😂 so you think the tories have demonstrated these things over the last year ? If so why are they so behind in the polls ?
The only thing that enabled an 80 seat majority was the ineptness of Corbyn and the blatant story telling of a seasoned liar. And to suggest that Labour voters are lazy scroungers lacking aspiration is rubbish, I thought we were all champagne socialists or middle class hand wringing tofu weavers ...

itsgettingweird · 19/10/2022 07:57

Is that you Sue Ellen?

I thought that 🤣🤣🤣

Especially because she does hate the SH tenants in her constituency. So much so she doesn't even respond to their emails.

But "problem families" Hmm

I had great pleasure when my new build estate opened - and the neighbours were complaining to me about the families that were causing an issue - and how that's the problem with mixed estates - pointing out they were complaining to someone who was actually in a SH and those "problem families" were private owners just like them.

The reply?

"But you're so nice".

People aren't arseholes because of their financial situation. Their arseholes because their arseholes. Grin

<btw it was also because I worked as well as raising my disabled ds alone and she assumed those causing problems were "benefit scroungers" - but did have the grace to recognise not all people who's lives took a turn for the worse wouldnt attempt to help themselves>

But SB is my MP. So finding those opinions locally isn't a surprise anymore. Angry

I really love Yvette Cooper.

Me too. It was just crazy that Jeremy Corbyn got the job instead of her.

itsgettingweird · 19/10/2022 08:07

Agree.

Just think what might have been had she been in charge of Labour a few years ago.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 19/10/2022 16:24

She's gone!

LobeliaBaggins · 19/10/2022 16:26

Good riddance.

Wilkolampshade · 19/10/2022 16:34

TFFT.
Couldn't happen to a nicer woman.

WildRosie · 19/10/2022 16:38

Crazy Kwarteng for Home Secretary. Well, why not ?

DeadButDelicious · 19/10/2022 17:06

Bit of a zinger in the resignation letter...

Apparently it's Grant Shapps

WildRosie · 19/10/2022 17:19

Yes, apparently Grant Shapps was the favourite, if that's the right word. I just thought the most recent ex-Chancellor might have time on his hands.
