she goes and says this:
twitter.com/___Mezzala/status/1582415198530699264?t=mSnObi-H3Pom40sjaUoRoA&s=19

“I’m afraid it’s the Labour Party, it’s the Lib Dems, it’s the Coalition of chaos, it’s the Guardian-reading, Tofu-eating, wokerati - dare I say the anti-growth coalition that we have to thank for the disruption we are seeing on our roads today!”

We need to get these cheeky fuckers out of office forever.
What a great response from the shadow Home Sec

She spends her time visiting cake shops and posting on FB about it.

Doesn't surprise me she's anti tofu!

Do I win a badge of honour for having to suffer her as an MP?!

coffeerevelsrule · 18/10/2022 20:33

Omg she was brilliant.

So quick witted and a perfect response.

I've always rated her but she gets better and better!

In my real world of work, where we take personal responsibility and earn money to live, we are too bloody busy working to talk around the coffee table - if we had a coffee table. If your are all sat around the coffee table chatting, perhaps you ought to get back to work?

Its called being productive if we can do more in 6 hours and earn the money we do it then it's up to us how we spend our time. These were 6 next taxpayers you know the sort who pay in more that they get out that subsidize the other 80% of the population and are too busy to climb bridges or glue themselves to roads .

True story, I once had to spend several days in a row with Suella Braverman.

Dumb as a rock and painfully unpleasant. Just genuinely as awful as you think.

She does come across as spectacularly stupid as does Truss (I said this about Truss during the leadership contest and was accused of being a misogynist. I've since been proven correct). Do the Tories have a factory where they create these people?! Confused

This site really doesn't reflect society the uproar after the conservatives got elected last time and it's general anti Brexit viewpoint of people on here just doesn't reflect polling results. She was discussing the public order bill which I agree with should limit the rights of these hippies and tofu eating wokerati who are claiming Dartford crossing and causing disruption labour are opposing parts of it so she is right to have a go at labour over that.

They should do something about those causing disruption - yes.

But to blame everyone NOT in power and assume a certain type of person is wrong.

She once stopped in the town centre and asked who I was voting for.

I said I was unsure.

She started to persuade me why voting for her was a good idea.

I started to tell her all the reason I would NEVER vote for her including emails I'd sent and replies I'd had.

She wanted to get rid of me very quickly after that. I politely declined and suggested if she wanted bites she should listen to her voting public Grin

Abei · 18/10/2022 20:57

I agree with Suella, although Yvettes response was quite witty.

MsTSwift · 18/10/2022 21:02

Yvette wiped the floor with her - she walked right into that one didn’t she! Too funny. What a prat she is.

coffeerevelsrule · 18/10/2022 21:02

FreddyHG It is not a conservative bill at all - they're turning the country into a police state and shredding our rights. Most of the country may well be small c conservatives but they aren't hard-right, which is what the party has become. And you keep on about polls etc - you might want to check what those are saying now. Not looking so good for the Tories. Also, if people enjoyed the YC take down of Cruella, there's also at least one brilliant video of Emily Thornberry handing her her arse too.

Isn’t she a Buddhist? I find her so far removed from what I understand Buddhist principles to be. Mind you, lots of the Tories claim to be Christians too, so . . .

She’s no Buddhist! She has forgotten the first precept entirely (compassion to all sentient beings). She was one once, maybe

And Buddhists tend to be ‘Guardian reading, tofu-eating wokerati’…

I think the ERG are more what happens when the photocopying doesn't work out, and you've already been rejected from so many potential seats that CCHQ have to step in and order one to accept you...

Oh hello

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 18/10/2022 21:05

Hmm. So the government are taking steps to curb our ability to protest, right before a winter where civil unrest may beckon due to people being starving, cold and really poor.

Do you reckon these 'protesters' are actually legit? Or is that where Liz truss was yesterday - in disguise holding up an ambulance to make us, the people, look like the bad guys who need to be punished and curbed, right when we are most vulnerable.

Well done, Yvette. If only she'd beaten Jeremy corbyn and been Labour leader!

CaronPoivre · 18/10/2022 21:11

You are so funny @FreddyHG Tory’s value law and order? On what evidence would you base that laughable suggestion?

Smilelesstalkmore · 18/10/2022 21:14

It's everyone else's fault except MINE!

What a twat.

BluOcty · 18/10/2022 21:16

Yvette Cooper is just soooo good. Would love to have her instead of Keir Starmer.

Crankley · 18/10/2022 21:21

Suella is spot on and fortunately I doubt she gives a damn what you or anyone else she has described so eloquently, thinks.

How exactly is any of this the fault of Labour or the Lib Dems.

She sounds like she would be more comfortable in the comments section of the Daily Mail. Seems about her level of discourse.

Sorry but if you want to insult people, perhaps you could try to be coherent? This post makes zero sense. But far be it from me to suggest that the only people supporting Braverman have a similar low level of intelligence.

She doesn't need to. She won't be in government for much longer.

I keep seeing the clip and I just feel so embarrassed that our actual Home Secretary said 'tofu-eating wokerati' in the chamber Blush

coffeerevelsrule · 18/10/2022 20:08

It's disgusting the way she speaks - she's in parliament to serve us all - including Guardian readers and tofu-eaters. She holds everyone in contempt and wants hauling out from there. I loved Yvette Cooper's response though.

It's the left who really hate their opponents. They hate rich Tories far more than conservatives hate poor socialists. And they don't just hate 'the rich'. They hate ordinary middle-class people who work hard and save their money. It makes me furious when a smug Guardian-reader describes somebody as a NIMBY. What do you expect???! Somebody works hard all their life, saves their money, buys a house and then learns that developers are going to build 500 new builds on their doorstep, including social housing (which will include 'problem families'). So instead of fields and trees, they've now got houses and noise and cars all round them. What do you think they're going to do? Dance with joy?

When I listen to left-wing people, what I usually sense isn't compassion but hatred. They want to hurt and upset 'rich people' far more than they want to help the poor. Tony Blair's speech writer said that New Labour allowed mass immigration so as to "rub the right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date." (By 'the right,' of course, they mean everyone who disagrees with them). That's what I mean about left-wing nastiness. The left are filled with just as much hatred and contempt. They are also more spiteful. They genuinely enjoy hurting and upsetting their opponents.

BirmaBrite · 18/10/2022 21:53

Sue Ellen just comes across as a very inexperienced and immature politician in that clip. Surely everyone in the Conservatives has been briefed not to mention the words chaos and anti-growth coalition in the current climate !

Exasperatednow · 18/10/2022 21:56

We'd leave as in emigrate if she became PM. She's a dim version of Pritti Patel as Home Office Minister.
