How can I get a Tesco clubcard without giving them my address?

I had one years ago and was inundated with unsolicited mail. I stopped. We now live with a very small Tesco nearby. I use when I am desperate. BUT they are charging about double price for certain things unless you have a club card.

Yes, I get quarterly emails about my points and my vouchers are on the online account but obviously if you use the Tesco store you will need the posted vouchers or it would be a right faff like Waitrose is, I would much rather have paper vouchers to use in store

Just scan the emailed barcodes - like you have to do with B&Q and pets at home. No need for any paper!!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/10/2022 19:08

You are not being charged double for an item without a club card, that's the price,

You are getting a 50% discount if you have one.

You may find that the price at Sainsburys is much the same as the 'doubled' Tesco price.

I have a Tesco Club Card and I don't get any mail from them, I do get an occasional email telling me how many points I've acrrued.

Gloryofthe80s · 18/10/2022 19:11

I have a clubcard and the only Mail I get is the vouchers every couple of months.

I never get any unsolicted mail (through letter box or email) from my tesco clubcard

spiderontheceiling · 18/10/2022 19:12

I got a Clubcard through the app about a year ago. My vouchers appear on there. I've had no mail whatsoever from them

IntentionalError · 18/10/2022 19:13

You could always use a fake name & address. This is one of my favourites for use in marketing stuff :

Ms E Truss
10 Downing St
London
SW1A 2AA

Halstead · 18/10/2022 19:14

I never get any post from them at all… presumably there’s a way to opt out of it that I selected at some point.

Mylittlesandwich · 18/10/2022 19:16

I'll send you mine to use and I'll get all your lovely Clubcard points 🤣

Well that's not going to work for long! 😂

ShakespearesSisters · 18/10/2022 19:49

No paper mail from tesco here either. Its all emails saying check account, you have some club card points.

Tralalalalalalalalalala · 19/10/2022 11:37

Thanks all. Issue is I don't want vouchers. I only use the small Tesco beside me when I have to, but I do get annoyed with having to pay nearly double for an item because I don't have a club card.

Can I say don't send any vouchers?

OP - Why would you not want the vouchers? You can use them so your shopping will be even cheaper!

gillybean2 · 19/10/2022 11:50

Just tick (or untick) the box saying you don’t want marketing from them and/or third parties. Read it carefully to be sure you tick it the right way.
You don’t need to have the paper vouchers any more, you can access them via the app. It’s more money off so why don’t you want them? I use mine to buy Xmas items for the food bank. Don’t waste them if you don’t want them for yourself.

ClaudiaWankleman · 19/10/2022 11:50

Why wouldn’t you want vouchers? They’re extra money off.
How do you expect to receive the key ring card if you don’t give them your address?

Peridot1 · 19/10/2022 11:52

Mad. Why would you not want vouchers? It’s four times a year so not exactly a lot. And makes your shopping cheaper. I only ever shopped at a small local Tesco too and got probably around £5 a year in vouchers. Enough for a tin of Celebrations at Christmas!

They are money-off vouchers! Nothing more, nothing less. Certainly nothing sinister or that you need to be so suspicious about. They make your shopping even cheaper AND you get the lower prices in store or online.

You are not making any sense.

autienotnaughty · 19/10/2022 11:55

Why would you not want vouchers? Last year I converted mine and we had a day in legoland and a day at Drayton Manor. That's roughly £250 worth of activities.

Shepq · 19/10/2022 11:55

You're being very dramatic about a small quantity of mail. Now you have the option for most of it to be online, including the vouchers (why would you not Want the vouchers when your complaining about the prices) any post you receive off them just get rid of it, same as all your other post 🤷‍♀️

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 19/10/2022 11:58

@Tralalalalalalalalalala so you don’t want free money????? Ok, so just block any email from Tesco - it’ll go straight in the email bin.
but if you don’t want free money, then why are you even worrying about having a club card to get items cheaper? Just simply don’t have a loyalty card- job done.

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 19/10/2022 11:58

I will have your vouchers! I just converted mine into £160 worth of Pizza Express vouchers.

How strange you wouldnt want the vouchers. They are literally £4.50 +£2.00 +£7.50 (whatever) off your shop. They are not vouchers for specific things its off your whole shop.

You can’t have been using that name for long 🤣

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 19/10/2022 12:03

Why would you not want to get your shopping even cheaper? You don't even have to have physical vouchers anymore

What a strange attitude

I'm also never get any unsolicited mail

gamerchick · 19/10/2022 12:03

To sum up OP. You can't. So you have a choice to make.
Or ask someone if they have a spare keyring and they'll get your points.

mandolinwind · 19/10/2022 12:04

I've have Clubcards for years but no unsolicited mail. Quarterly points vouchers used to come via mail but they are now up on line in my account ready for use. I don't receive any other mail from Tesco.
