Kitchen aids….wtf?!

Have a glut of vouchers I’ve been saving to buy a kitchen aid. / stand mixer type thing. Went on kitchen aid website and became utterly overwhelmed at all the different models. what the heck?! I just assumed there was one kitchen aid. Various colours. Now it looks as though I could either spend nearly £800 or a mere £350.
please can someone in the know explain the difference? I am tearing my hair out.

God I love my Artisan . Have had it for over 20 years and used it at least twice weekly . Love all the attachments you can get , the pasta roller attachment is brilliant and the ice cream bowl is permanently being used . Best bit of kit I ever bought .

I really want one now I’ve read this thread. I’m a total sucker for this sort of thing. I bought an overpriced Smeg fridge on impulse just because it’s green.

Do you all drive Figaros too? I’ve been pining for one of those for years.

love pastel retro shit.

It will make you happy and that happiness will last and what can be happier than that 😀

I've been wanting a a new stand mixer for years, I inherited an old kenwood from the 60s which was brilliant until it died, the only problem was it's weight. I've got a cheap Kenwood hand mixer that does the job but it's not the same.

I like the look of the Kmix but I'm really unsure. It's a considered purchase.

I have a kenwood food processor which I love but despite having an attachment for cakes it's not very good at it, but fantastic for pastry,

Does anyone else have problems with their bowls jamming and not able to release them?

In my head I have a Karmann Ghia. Any colour, I'm not fussy Grin

I had to Google that. Fabulous.

Why the glass bowl, I think the metal look better and isn't there a risk you could drop and smash it?

Firecarrier · 19/10/2022 21:45

Also are tilt head or bowl lift better?

I have both and prefer the look of the glass one. I love the weight of it too.

nokitchen · 24/10/2022 09:27

@SpaghettiSquash yes I do. It's when I've put the bowl in crooked. I have to whack the handle with a rolling pin to release it sometimes. Obviously I don't have a glass bowl

DownAtTheBodyShop · 24/10/2022 13:04

I prefer the look of the glass bowl (currently in use with bread dough being kneaded) but hate that I can’t weigh ingredients directly into it. It’s so heavy that it’s above the maximum my kitchen scale can take.

Itisbetter · 24/10/2022 13:41

The glass bowl is fabulous because it has a lid and retains heat so easier for bread.
