Just wondering really. My son is only 2 and I just find him so adorable. What age do they stop being so cute?

2 is peak cuteness I’m afraid!!

stayathomer · 15/10/2022 11:18

Never I’d say!!! Youngest is 7, eldest 14 and I still go aww just for different reasons, eg he helps one of the younger children with something then nods over at me, or we’re watching a comedy and he looks over so we can both laugh at something (we’ve the same sense of humour!)

Skelligsfeathers · 15/10/2022 11:20

There is something adorable to be found in all children.
I work with 8 year olds and my god they are cute sometimes!

I did love the 2 year old stage.

But mine are now 8 and 11 and still have cute moments! They are cuddly and affectionate and funny. They also love watching videos of when they were tiny which is lovely.

blackheartsgirl · 15/10/2022 11:22

They don’t stop being cute, they’re just cute in different ways :)

SylvanianFrenemies · 15/10/2022 11:23

Mine are 11 and 6... I'd say they are both adorable still.

I guess the squishy cuteness peaks around 3 and lasts til about 6.

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 15/10/2022 11:25

Aw my 5yo is still a bundle of cuteness. I teach secondary and often think year 7s can even be quite cute (obviously I would never say that to them!) but it's definitely gone by y8. So I'd say around 12 is when it ends.

sunshineandsuddenshowers · 15/10/2022 11:27

Your own children never. Children in general well it depends on the child but it becomes more and more sporadic!

Mamette · 15/10/2022 11:27

Mine are 21, 8 and 6 and I look back at toddler photos and think, my god they were so incredibly cute and squishy.

8 and 6 year old are still very very sweet, and the 21 year old is beautiful and I’m in awe of her achievements every day but cute.. not so much 😂

Whatarubbishusername · 15/10/2022 11:28

Never! My DS is 24 and I could still squeeze his cute cheeks (don't worry, I don't actually do it!)

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/10/2022 11:30

Unless you are Dot Cotton, your own children will always be adorable you. My 14 yo is entering a phase of being an adorable young man.

Em3978 · 15/10/2022 12:09

Mine's 14 too and is just sooo lovely and adorable. 😍

The fact that he's taller than me, has a deep voice and is a grumpy teenager is totally ignored 😄

CookPassBabtridge · 15/10/2022 12:16

Maybe 6? My 8 year old is amazing but the cuteness has stopped, his voice is a bit deeper and he's tall and stockier. My 5 year old is still very cute.. little voice and height etc.

Maslinka · 15/10/2022 12:47

I thought they were at peak cuteness when mine were 2 too. Then peak cuteness became 3, then 4...

If the cuteness fades eventually, slightly, it is more than made up for with how much more interesting they get. I think every year felt better than the last until well into teens (and mental health issues.)

whirlyswirly · 15/10/2022 23:20

12.5 for both of mine. 2-3 and 8-9 probably peak cute.

Hoolihan · 15/10/2022 23:23

2-3 is just the cutest thing EVER and they get slowly less cute from then on, with all cute gone by 12ish. Imo.

ButterflyBiscuit · 15/10/2022 23:24

I think mums tend to think their own child is adorable even when others don't. 2 year olds cna be adorable, but in a cafe someo e else's 2 year old running around all noisy and mucky is not adorable to everyone else in the way mum thinks it is!

I adore mine but now they're older am well aware that others aren't going to share that!

goldfinchfan · 15/10/2022 23:51

when they are teens..........awful to find myDD saying stuff to hurt just cos ahe could. i never saw that coming she had been the best baby and child ever.

FTMFML · 15/10/2022 23:59

The minute they get grumpy.

Kanaloa · 15/10/2022 23:59

Other people’s kids stop being cute around age 4. MY kids get cuter and more lovely every year, of course.

My DD looked cute even when she was grumpy.

She's 23 and still cute.

StillMedusa · 16/10/2022 00:49

Puberty.
They morph from cute to grumpy grunting neanderthols Halloween Grin
Then after a few years stewing in their cocoons (festering bedrooms) they reamerge as beautiful adult butterflies

HighlandPony · 16/10/2022 00:50

About 4 or 5 when they go to school and learn backchat
