What age do children stop being adorable?

Just wondering really. My son is only 2 and I just find him so adorable. What age do they stop being so cute?

My DS is 8, and still utterly adorable. He comes up to me and gives me these big squishy cuddles while he leans into me and says "ooooh, I love you soooooo much."

His big sister is nearly 11, awkward, gawky and doesn't want kisses and cuddles. Yet there are still moments of adorableness. Sometimes it's when she's being very mature and independent but still looks like Bambi on ice, other times it's when she's scared and vulnerable and wants her mum but doesn't know how to ask. 🥰

I’m not keen on under 3’s. But I run brownies and they are absolutely adorable at times.
I’d say maybe 10?

I stop liking children from the age of 5 or 6 then begin to like them again about 13 or 14. That tween stage is horrible. So I'd say they stop being cute when they go into year 1.

Mine still are and both in their 30s.

  1. Sad reality check, but 8 is where the 'adorable little scamp', (but, steady!)- from a 'difficult family background', previously - becomes the little shit who will attempt to bully his classmates, becomes the 'avoid! avoid'!' -option at school. Eight.

Now in prison, aged 22.

YukoandHiro · 16/10/2022 23:25

My 5yo still has v cute moments but she's nowhere near at cute as my 2yo. You're at the peak!

FistFullOfRegrets · 16/10/2022 23:35

Well, I haven't hit 'peak' with my mum yet & I'm 53. I guess some mums just get super lucky!!

I think 2 is peak cute, but the decline is very very slow over many years & other things increase.

Mine are 31 and 33 and they’re still adorable. DD2 yesterday sent me a photo of her hand wearing an engagement ring - apparently her partner had just proposed to her on the bridge in Central Park, while on their city break in New York! That’s definitely adorable. Can’t wait to hug her when she gets home.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 16/10/2022 23:49

My 17yo is still adorable. Genuinely.

I do find her cute still, sometimes, but obviously not as cute as when she was tiny. The reduced cuteness, though, is more than made up for by the awesomeness of the person who she has become.

When she was a toddler, I didn't think it was possible for one human being to love another human being any more than I did then, but my love for her has just grown and grown. She might not be as tiny as she once was, but she is absolutely flipping amazing !

My DC (19 and 22) still are to me.

Stranger's children probably when they go into Junior School. The chuchiness goes as they get taller.

I’m sorry that must be very hard 🙁 I hope he can turn things around.

My 12 year old is not really cute anymore. Just occasional flashes. He had a baby face for a long time but no longer. He has an attitude and is cantankerous.

My 7 year old I think is transitioning out of proper full on cute. He is short for his year so looks younger. When he comes out of school with his shirt untucked and his tie skew whiff and wearing his coat as a cape he does look adorable though and I catch people (especially older people) looking at him fondly.

Hoppinggreen · 17/10/2022 08:19

My 14 year old 6ft boy/man still has occasional flashes of adorableness

shinynewapple22 · 17/10/2022 08:35

As others have said ... DS is 21 and still adorable.

There is a time - around late juniors I think - when they no longer want you to call them by endearments - but you still think it.

shalalalaa · 17/10/2022 08:47

I can't imagine not finding my dc cute. Never ! However age 2 in photos was wayyyy up there for 'cuteness'

ZaZathecat · 17/10/2022 08:48

Mine are in their 20s and still adorable!
Obviously they have had their moments, they're not perfect, but deep down they're adorable

squashyhat · 17/10/2022 08:53

About 10 minutes after they are born. Actually scrap that - newborn babies look like wizened old peanuts to me. (Don't worry - I'm not a parent).

lightlypoached · 17/10/2022 16:29

My 6 foot 1 spotty, gangly 19 year old is cute as pie when you catch him singing his favourite tune and having a little jig to it. When no one is watching , of course.

And my DD,23 sitting here with her socks all squiffy, giggling to pictures on the internet when she should be working.

I luffs them ❤️

Movingtomorrow · 17/10/2022 16:55

Mine are 35 and 33. Still adorable, as are my two grandsons.

Avidreader69 · 17/10/2022 16:57

Mine are in their forties and still adorable!

WizardOfUK · 17/10/2022 17:00

I think they can be adorable at any age. My dd who is 14, came up and gave me a random hug, in public no less, yesterday for no reason. I though that was pretty cute

LimpBiskit · 17/10/2022 17:27

2😂

Fordian · 20/10/2022 18:27
  1. Unfortunately, it's sadly the age where a child from a 'difficult background' runs the risk of no longer being the sweet, naïve, wide-eyed poor little mite but becomes a little sod (for want of the word I want to use).
FennelAndOnions · 20/10/2022 18:36

My 8 year old is still adorable. Very cuddly, still gets certain words wrong and comes out with all sorts of random theories. He’s just so damn cute.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 20/10/2022 18:39

Love that , from a chrysalis to a beautiful butterfly 🦋
