What age do children stop being adorable?

Just wondering really. My son is only 2 and I just find him so adorable. What age do they stop being so cute?

I still find my five year old heart breakingly adorable, he still muddles up some words, he runs out of school and flings himself at me sometimes, he still holds my hand now and then before he remembers he's supposed to be big and cool... I still smoosh his cheeks and smooth his hair and blow raspberries on his tummy. Some of it changes yes but as they grow older they just get funnier and better company (until the tween years possibly, not sure on that, but through primary school definitely)

Mine are 18+ and still adorable ❤️

I don't know. My oldest is only 40

Yep, my eldest isn't far off 30 and to me he's still adorable Smile

Gronkle · 16/10/2022 01:51

My eldest is 21, he makes me snort giggle, he's so funny. He cuddles me and is adorable... if he wakes me up when he comes home at 4am tonight, I will not think he's adorable!

Never
my little boy is 18 next month and he’s still and always will be the most adorable wonderful thing I’ve ever seen

charabang · 16/10/2022 06:58

Primary school age and under is supercute. After that they get tainted at senior school and aren't always likeable. Although when they are asleep at any age, even in their 30s like mine, they always look like your babies. 😁

Rainbowcat99 · 16/10/2022 07:07

Adorable to you? Hopefully always.
Adorable to the general public? I always think they lose their baby cuteness somewhere in year 2 so between 6-7.
Still many lovely things about them plus they swap cuteness for being easier and able to hold an actual conversation.

Thanks for the replies. I hope to find my son adorable even at 40 then 😄

It never stops. Our DDs are 18 & 19 and I still find them absolutely adorable. DD2 came home on her first visit from university recently - I ran half the length of the platform, picked her up and deeply sniffed her hair.

DD1 is coming home from university tomorrow and I've just messaged her 'Brace yourself for a thousand snuggles'. Luckily, they both very kindly tolerate my crazy adoration of them.

Afonavon · 16/10/2022 19:20

It is dependent on the child.

But generally, when the hormones kick in, the adorable moments disappear . I found the Primary school period bloody lovely with my DCs. I still shudder at the teen years. Both are bloody adorable again as adults, hallelujah!

Exhausted thirty year olds asleep on the sofa are quite lovable too.

Its definitely stopped for me. I don’t find my 8 year old cute at all :(

HotSauceCommittee · 16/10/2022 19:48

My 6 foot + 14 and 19 year olds are still adorable.

Meili04 · 16/10/2022 19:50

4-5 mines 9 and PITA cute very rarely. Love her to death though.

That sounds adorable! I love how they still love it too!

My 9yo still has a cherubic cuteness. When asleep he still has the same baby face that he had as an infant.

My 11yo can still do cute in a different way. He still has very sweet, innocent moments.

Both can still be very snuggly and lovely.

Some do cute longer than others. Some of their peers still have something cute about them too, so it's not just my mummy-goggles.

dementedma · 16/10/2022 20:03

The minute after they are born and start screaming

orbitalcrisis · 16/10/2022 20:13

To other people around the age of 6 months, to you, adolescence.

I think they're quietly resigned to the fact they don't really have a choice 😆 But they're very gracious about it.

Passthecake30 · 16/10/2022 20:17

When they hit puberty. I have a dd 13 and ds 14 and omg they have been far from cute for a good couple of years!

Six year olds are quite cute still. Seven year olds know everything and there’s nothing new in the world. Not cute.

fUNNYfACE36 · 16/10/2022 20:37

Eldest is 27. I'll let you know when it happens!

My oldest is 26 & absolutely adorable still even if he does have to bend down for a hug now!
