My favourite detective. My children teased me for years every time the music came on theyd groan and say OH no Bloody Jessica Fletcher

I watched an episode this afternoon. I'm sad, we were blessed with a wonderful actress for many decades

Murder she wrote was my favourite gentle tv when my kids were young I used to watch it a lot.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/10/2022 21:00

She had a great, long life, didn't she. And she was wonderful to watch on the screen which led to her having a very long working life too. RIP

I used to like watching Murder She Wrote, but I did think to myself that if I was holidaying somewhere and Jessica Fletcher turned up that I would leave immediately just in case I was the one whose death needed to be investigated. Grin

Loved the title music for Murder she Wrote. But Bedknobs and Broomsticks was one of the most disturbing films I saw as a child!

WimpoleHat · 11/10/2022 21:01

I’m so sad about this. She was wonderful. I saw her a few years ago on the stage on London as Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit; I think she was 89 and she was fabulous! Such a great loss.

KennAdams · 11/10/2022 21:02

She was an icon. ❤️

bellinisurge · 11/10/2022 21:02

Watch the classic film "Gaslight" - where we get the word from. She's in that. And she's excellent.

Y7drama · 11/10/2022 21:03

I’m sad, I used to watch murder she wrote with my lovely grandma. They’d have been a similar age.

Oblomov22 · 11/10/2022 21:03

What a shame. Loved her in murder. One of my most favourite characters.

Is that the really old black and white one?

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 11/10/2022 21:04

Loved (and still do) Murder She Wrote. A legend.

justasking111 · 11/10/2022 21:04

She was marvellous in Gaslight

She starred in one of my favourite films, Bedknobs and Broomsticks. A legend in Cabot's Cove ❤️

PainterInPeril · 11/10/2022 21:07

Aw, I always loved watching Angela Lansbury! I'm sad she's gone. She was also in the original Mrs Harris goes to Paris film.

SulisMinerva · 11/10/2022 21:07

Loved her - The Court Jester was a favourite family film. Also love Murder She Wrote.

ShirleyHolmes · 11/10/2022 21:08

And she was so so much more than Murder She Wrote ( which I also love). Just look at her career - film, TV, stage . Such a loss.

Pinkstars2501 · 11/10/2022 21:09

Aww Mrs Potts 🙁 R.I.P

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/10/2022 21:10

Jessica Fletcher was the most successful serial killer ever, according to DH.

LOVED Dame Angela 🙏

RIP Egglentine

CurlUpAndDye · 11/10/2022 21:11

🙁

PurpleFlower1983 · 11/10/2022 21:11

Genuinely gutted! What a talent and what a career! I had the privilege of meeting her and chatting to her. She was absolutely lovely.

WorriedMillie · 11/10/2022 21:11

She was phenomenal!
what a legacy ❤️

AlternativelyWired · 11/10/2022 21:12

I'm so sad to hear this. MSW is my ultimate comfort viewing and I've watched since I was a child. She was marvellous, truly marvellous. A lady with cajones. I always wanted to be like her when I grew up-just without all the murders. RIP to an amazing lady.

Prettypaisleyslippers · 11/10/2022 21:12

Was it murder?

limitededitionbarbie · 11/10/2022 21:13

Gutted also I lived murder she wrote. An amazing lady.

Mogloveseggs · 11/10/2022 21:14

Very sad news she was a true icon. RIP

Kocakolakazza · 11/10/2022 21:15

I'm probably more gutted about Angela Langsbury passing away than the Queen to be honest.

I did always think it was strange in murder she wrote, she was presented as this wee old lady. But really she was only in her early 50s.
