Urgent need of a hand hold / unMN hug

I know there may be more specific sites to put this thread but I can't bring myself to go there
DH is in hospital with Leukaemia- and for the past few weeks has had a chest infection
Now he has 2 chest infections
I have been visiting x2 a day but not since Thursday as I got Covid (for the first time)
The Macmillan nurse has just rung asking me to do a test as the Dr wants to have an conversation' and it might be easier if I am there
Of course I am still testing positive
I tried to get details out of her but all she would say is that it is a serious conversation
Dr is due to ring me soon
I feel sick with nerves and so guilty that I am not there
He is 49
I really need a hand hold

Oh @MumofSpud I cant even tell you how sorry I am. To go from the awful news yesterday and thinking you still have time together to losing him so soon is be beyond heartbreaking. You must have still been processing everything, you poor poor thing.

It strikes me that your DH was one of thosevspecial people with amazing control. He went on his terms, in his time. My mum and her father both did this, much to our shock and horror. In retrospect, it's a gift they had, and an enviable one at that. It did not help us in the moment though.

We are all here, holding you upright even if you can't. We've got you, if that's a comfort 🌹

It won’t help now, but in the future that you were there and he wasn’t in pain will mean something, however small. He sounds wonderful.

It sounds as though he went peacefully and comfortably and that is all we can ever hope for really.

I’m so, so, sorry to read your update. I can only imagine the pain you are going through and am sure there are people here who are better with words than I am but just know that people are here ready with handholds whenever you need them. We will be thinking of you xx
