I have a very important question about the advent of tubeless toilet rolls

Is the new cardboard-tubeless toilet roll still going to work on all our toilet roll holders? I’m very worried that our toilet roll holders won’t be fit for purpose and that using toilet roll will become a more complicated process. Has this been taken into account do you think? Please reassure me!

More importantly, what am I going to use for my kids crafts now!

Tubeless? Whaaat?!

Wenwes · 24/09/2022 22:01

Are you allowed to use those these days? When mine were at nursery (which admittedly was a looong time ago now) they weren’t allowed!

New? We had them years ago 🤣 I have a bar toilet roll holder so I'm fine

This is definitely the most concerning aspect of the whole affair.

SpringCalling · 24/09/2022 22:05

what's a bar toilet holder?
what's tubeless toilet paper?
agh have I been asleep for the last year?!!

This is what I thought OP was going to post about 😂

What about those of us who use the cardboard tubes to make trumpet sounds on the way to the recycling bin? No way am I giving that up, despite being 52. I'd miss DP rolling his eyes at me.

There is a revolutionary new plan afoot to take the cardboard tubes out of out toilet rolls 😯

The demise of the cardboard tube is an even more serious situation than I’d realised.

If you're using toilet roll tubes you're doing it wrong. You need the inner from a roll of tinfoil or clingfilm for the proper "toot" noise.

Graceandfavours · 24/09/2022 22:13

No one in my house seems capable of replacing a tube on a holder anyway so I doubt we’ll notice much difference. There will continue to be 3 or 4 rolls ‘on the go’ balancing on the side of the bath or on the cistern 🙄

This is the key concern. 🎺

Justmuddlingalong · 24/09/2022 22:13

I know, but you need to wait aaaaaaages for one of those🎺

Can you still balance a tubeless roll? Won’t it just collapse into a heap?

What is our gerbil going to chew and run through if there are no toilet roll tubes 😢

maddening · 24/09/2022 22:22

Our gerbils are threatening revolt.

I tried one. It got snagged on the bog r holder and tangled itself from the inside out.

Total nightmare. Especially when you're trying to unfurl some loo roll after a 3am wee and it's jammed and stuck on the holder.

Seemed a good idea when I bought them 🤣

potterydetective · 24/09/2022 22:25

On a tangent here, but I saw these in Aldi today, just in case you want your bottom smelling of roasted marshmallows.......😏

Yes! This is exactly the sort of thing I’m worried about!

Can't resist a rendition of "Catch the pigeon" through a cardboard tube. My kids think I'm weird 😄

LitterTracey · 24/09/2022 22:27

I knew that fucking koala looked shifty.
The cunt.

pastypirate · 24/09/2022 22:27

What will my dds leave all other the bathroom just to irritate me then? Even though the bin is 30cm away...

Skiphopbump · 24/09/2022 22:29

My dog will be sad, me not so much as I won’t be picking out the bits of toilet tube likes to leave more me in my bed.
