I have a very important question about the advent of tubeless toilet rolls

Is the new cardboard-tubeless toilet roll still going to work on all our toilet roll holders? I’m very worried that our toilet roll holders won’t be fit for purpose and that using toilet roll will become a more complicated process. Has this been taken into account do you think? Please reassure me!

On a tangent here, but I saw these in Aldi today, just in case you want your bottom smelling of roasted marshmallows.......😏

On what planet would anyone think that was a good idea?

I have a bar toilet roll holder AND a tubeless toilet roll. And no, they don’t fit. It’s fucking irritating.

The scented ones is only the tube that's scented not the tissue

I worry for the toddlers of tomorrow, not knowing the joy of making these little fellas. 😢

It's this why there's been hardly any toilet paper anywhere for weeks now unless you want extra quilted or thinner than tracing paper stuff?

MsFogi · 24/09/2022 23:41

We all know that the outcome of this environmental move will be that cardboard tubes (that happen to be the same size as loo-roll tubes) will start to be sold in The Works. Anyone with small children will need to buy them in vast quantities. Not great!

Johnnysgirl · 24/09/2022 23:43

I actually thought we'd got a faulty batch! They're awful.

LadybirdsAreNeverHappy · 24/09/2022 23:46

I hope kitchen rolls don’t go the same way. Every time I finish one, my 3 yo points at it and says Can I have that telescope? She loves them.

Wenwes · 24/09/2022 23:46

Are they charging more for a roll now given that they say the removal of the tube means more paper?

We have the tubeless ones and they are absolutely fine. Confused

Singleandproud · 24/09/2022 23:51

I have a freestanding toilet roll holder, 4 rolls on the stand upright and one on the sticky out bit for use. Tubeless were fine for that but why on earth do they come in plastic wrapping? I normally buy the Andrex in the paper wrapping that can be recycled.

Yarnosaur · 24/09/2022 23:54

They work absolutely fine, 'tis magic (the Cushelle ones do anyway).

Kids2Hounds2 · 24/09/2022 23:58

Another tangent..what ever happened to patterned and coloured loo rolls? Blue, pink and champagne I think?
My parents pink 1970’s bathroom always had a matching pink loo roll and a flowery one under the loo roll dolly in her knitted filly dress for when guests came..

Sgtmajormummy · 25/09/2022 00:08

I’ve seen core-free ones with a mini toilet roll wrapped in grease proof paper in the centre. You slide it out and use the roll as usual. The mini roll can go in your handbag.
I was Confused.
Nobody needs that many “convenient” mini packs of tissues and the saving between cardboard cores and grease proof paper is minimal.

The cunt.

🐨 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣 🐨 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

@Wenwes

i didn't realise they were all going that way? I thought it was just a gimmick some companies were trying.

I haven't got around to getting a toilet roll holder fitted since doing the bathroom, it just sits on the side of the bath. I'll wait to see how it goes for everyone else.

custardbear · 25/09/2022 00:17

They're awesome ... the amount of bloody tubes I find in our toilets pisses me off!!

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/09/2022 00:29

It’s the revolution loo roll stackers like me have been waiting for. We KNEW we were right to be loo roll holder refuseniks. What pointlessness a loo roll holder is. STACK IT BABY.

Also no more stupid lost tubes under the radiator, crying and gathering dust.

I think empty loo rolls breed in my bathroom.

My other half uses them to catch spiders and moths...somehow.

Not seen the tubeless rolls yet.

Dibbydoos · 25/09/2022 01:26

Noones going to be making physical artwork soon, it'll all be digital.

Losing unnecessary packaging is really important. Tubeless toilet rolls are needed 😁

DontTrustThisPoster · 25/09/2022 01:32

You’re right… he DOES look shifty… 🐨 ❌ 🚽

You are winding us up

chocolateisavegetable · 25/09/2022 08:12

We ended up with some when I sent DH out to get toilet roll. Don’t work on the toilet roll holder properly and it was also difficult to actually unwind even off the holder because it all seemed stuck together
