Have you ever met anyone that won the jackpot on the lottery?

My friend told me that she thinks the lottery is a huge conspiracy theory and nobody wins the jackpot for real. At the time I thought she was nuts but I do keep thinking about it when I walk the dog. So please help me stop thinking this nonesense and tell me, have you ever met anyone that has actually won the jackpot?

I haven't met them but a couple of business partners won a big jackpot years back that lived in a town very close to me.

I also know someone who won around £1million.

A work colleague didn't win the jackpot, but about £20,000 several years ago.

My nan was always applying to competitions in magazines, buying raffle tickets etc. She won the jackpot prize- but didn't even remember getting the ticket! She won a computer, men and womens bicycles, expensive perfume and aftershave sets, towels and dressing gowns and other random things. Plus a cash prize of approx £5000.

My best friends parents won around £750,000 in 2002 ish.
A man from DHs football team won the euro millions; around £33 million.

My neighbour was part of a work syndicate which won a big jackpot a few years ago, but there was quite a lot of people in the syndicate

There was a guy in our workplace that won! He was actually in work on the Monday morning and his manager ended up leading him away and telling him to go home and sort his trip out to collect his winnings!

Another work colleague, same business, also had a part time job in a bar. One of her customers won the jackpot! We always joked that we now have no hope of winning because the odds of another from such a small town are too slim.

An old work colleague did. She didn’t come back in to the office, apart from coming in to collect her things. The chances of winning are so low I feel like I’ll never have a chance now.

Years ago a work colleague's son and DIL won the jackpot. They bought a regular 4 bed house outright and a nice camper van to holiday in with their small children, put the rest away and seemed very sensible!

I've not met anyone who won the lottery, but some years ago my Mum did a crossword in the Daily Mail and won a brand new car! I never believed anyone really won these big prizes prior.
I do wonder about phone in's such as on This Morning etc though.
