Have you ever met anyone that won the jackpot on the lottery?

My friend told me that she thinks the lottery is a huge conspiracy theory and nobody wins the jackpot for real. At the time I thought she was nuts but I do keep thinking about it when I walk the dog. So please help me stop thinking this nonesense and tell me, have you ever met anyone that has actually won the jackpot?

I knew someone whose partner won. He spoilt her rotten, was incredible....until he wasn't and he left her high and dry. It's not something I would have made up, I was upsetting to see.

Yes. I also recall her phoning in today work saying she wasn't coming in (and v sorry but can't explain why etc) - immature HR mgr at the time gave her a load of shit. She took great delight in telling her to 'f off' when she did come in!

I recall she won the jacket - over £5million.

Also mate of DH's won £300k on a scratch card.

Syndicate winners too, it broke up more relationships that made better.

You always seem to hear ‘big’ winners in North & East. Re: million lottery winner on Euromillions - how is this decided? Each line has a code I think so must be millions?

Sadly not, she couldn't afford legal representation and they weren't married. She did well in the end though, she became a teacher and is now happy, I think. It was terribly sad though, she had young children when she met him and they were happy for a while.

My ex-H's best friend won £4m in the mid 90s. They were best friends since childhood, and were Best Man at each other's weddings. Neither of them had a pot to piss in.
A few days after the win, he came round to ours with an envelope, for which we were incredibly grateful.
We opened it to find £60 cash.

He moved away to a posh part of Glasgow, and we never heard from him again.
