What a woman, she is 72 years old !! I can’t believe how amazing she has been in the last few days.

I always knew she was the most hardworking royal , but this week she has been outstanding.

Adding to the Ann love. She is brilliant and has really stepped up these last few days.

GreatAuntieDoris · 13/09/2022 09:21

I'm not so keen.

She's carrying out her role as the 2nd snr royal after Charles. Neither Edward no Andrew would have accompanied the coffin.

I have also heard (through friends who know the background of her and her 'set') that her marriage is not all it seems. Some years ago she was said to be reunited with her old flame. True or not- who knows?

She's amazing. And I have to say I have been impressed by the sheer stamina of the Royals this week, especially Anne and Charles, who are (sorry I don't mean to offend) 'a little older.' (Both in their 70s.) I am 2 to 2.5 decades younger than them, and I would have been FUCKED by now! I'd need a month's sleep to recover. Anyone who says the Royals don't work hard for their money can fucking jog on.

I'll say. I'm 68 and there are days when my legs and back really remind me about that.

Wearing an outfit more than once is common sense, not recycling.

I too was struck by Princess Anne wearing trousers with her uniform yesterday, how long has she been doing that for?

She wore trousers when she walked behind the QM's coffin, and she wears them at Remembrance Sunday wreath laying.

Always admired Anne. My granddad took me to stand in the crowd to see her being driven to BP the night before Princess Margaret's wedding.

This makes me love her even more.

I think the dog was called "Dorothy", IIRC.

She’s the original for girl power. Love this picture

A lovely picture. Zara is so like her mother.

I've always thought that it took great courage for Edward to realise that he wasn't cut out for the marines, so many plod on. Imagine having to go to his father and tell him.

I agree with you.

LadyEloise1 · 13/09/2022 09:38

I believe that it must have been Anne who decided no way was a certain duchess coming to Balmoral on the evening of the day the Queen died.
Just my hunch.
The Queen, her beloved Mum, had been put under a lot of unnecessary stress by a certain duo ( and Andrew ).
There wasn't much Anne could do about her brother and nephew being there.

I could be totally wrong.

Parsley1234 · 13/09/2022 10:00

We live at the back of Gatcombe she is totally fabulous her grandchildren are at the prep where my son went. They are all low key and charming she does a lot for charity and doesn’t bang on about it down to earth and great fun.

Sally090807 · 13/09/2022 10:06

Looking at all the photos of the people in London and Scotland and thinking how different this would have been had the Queen died during lockdown.

What a malicious, ridiculous comment.
This thread is about Anne not your hatred of Meghan.

RJnomore1 · 13/09/2022 10:18

Anne, like her mother, was not born for the throne and imo that is why she would be a much better head of state than the sibling who was.

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 13/09/2022 10:26

I like Anne too, I think she has done a lot of work for various charities over the years but didn’t get the same publicity Diana did as she’s not gorgeous. I’m not knocking Diana it’s just how the press works. I do think though that’s she’s worn very well over the years she hardly looks any different! Plus that long walk up the Royal Mile in Edinburgh behind the hearse all uphill or a lot of it, was getting worried about Charlie too as I doubt he’s as fit as Anne is.

BashfulClam · 13/09/2022 00:39

She talked about her hairdo once. It takes her m minutes and is neat so suitable for an event or riding a horse. She isn’t interested in doing anything fancy.

Good for her re hairdo ! I think in this respect she is a bit like the late Queen, she’s found what she likes and she sticks with it.

She also wears trousers and rides astride at the trooping of the colour. The Queen always rode side saddle, apparently she didn't like riding aside but did so for her father.

LadyEloise1 · 13/09/2022 10:41

amatsip, I certainly don't hate Megan.
But I do think the past few years were difficult for the Queen.
I didn't mean it to be malicious.
Just that I believe Anne is "no nonsense, just get on with it" but if you upset Her Mum she won't tolerate it ( if possible ).

zingally · 13/09/2022 10:43

I really rate Anne as well. She does considerably more public face to face stuff that any of the others, just quietly gets on with it, and doesn't make a song and dance about it.

I know a number of people who've met Princess Anne, who all said she was really nice, polite, interested, engaged.

henni85 · 13/09/2022 10:47

I had the pleasure of meeting her once. She works hard and maintains a great sense of humour.

TarasHarp55 · 13/09/2022 10:55

Plump82 · 12/09/2022 20:55

I know nothing about her but saw this picture online and couldn't believe how beautiful she looked

*But that picture looks nothing like her. So filtered....

I maybe be in the minority here but I don't like her. All that "she doesn't suffer fools gladly" and she's "hard working". I always wonder who these "fools" are, maybe people just trying to earn a living and unlike her doesn't get it handed on a plate. As for hard working? All the "work" is done by others, she keeps busy with engagements, it isn't work as such.

I once read how she took a charter plane to Rome costing the taxpayer over £16.000 just so she could watch Scotland play rugby. Another "on the take" royal I'm afraid.*

FictionalCharacter · 13/09/2022 01:35

And she wears trousers as part of her dress uniform!

Yes, I've seen her in her uniform on Remembrance Day, and she wears a long overcoat with the trousers - always looks immaculately turned out .

FacebookPhotos · 13/09/2022 11:10

I once read how she took a charter plane to Rome costing the taxpayer over £16.000 just so she could watch Scotland play rugby.

She is patron of Scottish rugby and goes to see them as often as she can (genuinely supports them as far as I can see). The royal family owe as much loyalty to Scotland as England and need to be seen to support the Scottish teams IMO.

I don't think it's the fact that it was the Scotland team that was the point.

I know that. How wonderful for them to give themselves patronages. How they exploit it.

TarasHarp55 · 13/09/2022 11:40

Anne holds 24 military positions. Confused

Teacupsandtoast · 13/09/2022 11:53

She's the woman you'd want sailing your ship in the time of crisis. Brave, ballsy, no nonsense
