Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, listening to the breeze & watching the drizzley rain through the windows.

I could do with a nip to town but really cba to go. I think a moochy day of washing, tidying, and crochet is on the cards. I need to do a little bit of Rainbows and Guides prep for Tuesday too.

The girls are tired after their first week back to school & dd1's spent a lot of time organising revision cards/notes this week (GCSE's this year!) I expect they'll watch more Gilmore Girls, & at some point they wanted to make sugar mice so the mould is out ready for them.

We're having diy pizzas for tea, dd2 wants to make them 😋 & then tonight will be more not doing much...probably the food channel on tv for me & more crochet.

What about all of you? 🙂

I'm not sure the sun's out so I've a washing on . No kids at home now so its just me and he , so might boringly catch up on TV and make lasagne for tea.

QueenMabby · 10/09/2022 08:51

Currently in bed eating toast and drinking coffee.
DH is feeling poorly (tested negative for covid and no dressing gown of doom but still...)
I'm off for a walk with a friend in a bit. DCs have homework to do, otherwise just a pottery sort of day.
Toad in the hole for dinner.

Funinthemud · 10/09/2022 08:54

Taking my children cycling for the day around a forest with a play park and ice cream at the end of it

Minimalme · 10/09/2022 08:55

Morning @lucysmam I love these threads.

So far this morning I have:

  • Removed a giant bee from the window sill.
  • crocheted a basket to sell at a craft fair

Later I am taking ds to an ASD friendly cinema viewing and seeing some cushion covers.

Minimalme · 10/09/2022 08:57

Sewing cushion covers - although I have toyed with just buying some nice ones from the shops and saving myself a job.

Minimalme · 10/09/2022 08:58

It made such an intense buzzing , I thought next door had the hedge trimmer's out Grin

Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?
Mrsjayy · 10/09/2022 08:59

You could have kept that bee as a pet it's HUGE😃

sparklecement · 10/09/2022 09:02

Quiet day today. Trying to get all the washing done and out as it has lashed with rain most of the week here. Tidy and clean the house. Steak on the BBQ for tea and a gin.

20viona · 10/09/2022 09:10

We need to take our 6 day old daughter for a weight check as she had dropped to 4lb 9oz on Thursday. Need to entertain the 3 year old too! A slow day but I don't like it to be too slow (even when Iv just given birth!)

itsgettingweird · 10/09/2022 09:10

I'm doing an online dance class through my gym at 10.

I had crumpets and coffee for breakfast and a load of washing is in - just about to do second!

Ds has a zoom meeting with his national talent programme this afternoon.

I'm going to make toad in the hole with various veg for a late lunch/ very early dinner (about 4).

In between the class and zooms and cooking I will be doing meal plan for week after next, doing my budget sheet (just started this month to monitor through this cost of living difficulty), writing my shopping list as I order online to come Friday evenings, and cleaning bathroom and mopping floors.

Tomorrow I have an online class at 9.30am and then plan to do some baking and reading and having a nice long bath in the evening!

dementedma · 10/09/2022 09:11

Rain has finally stopped so will spend some time in the garden today. For now coffee in bed while the first load of washing underway. Will get my mother's shopping at some point and endure an eyebrow/ moustache wax this afternoon.
DH at work all day and overnight...bliss

caringcarer · 10/09/2022 09:11

I have to spend morning sorting out paperwork and printing of 4 months mortgage statements as remortgaging on to a fix for 5 years. DH volunteered to do cleaning and tidying. He sees that as easier than mammoth paperwork task I will be doing. Looking to go out walking after lunch if not raining.

mdh2020 · 10/09/2022 09:11

I’ve had two cups of coffee in bed and read the paper. I’m going to re-pot some plants on the patio and, if my friend is finally Covid free, go shopping with her. Everyone else is out of the house and I am relishing in the peace and quiet.

HarpicHarpy · 10/09/2022 09:14

We're off to the Eden project today! I think I'm more excited than the dc.

JaneJeffer · 10/09/2022 09:15

Trying to go back to sleep. Not happening.

1.5 hours ago when I put the washing on it was sunny, blue sky & looked like it was going to be a nice day, met weather agreed. It's just let me know it's ready to go out to play and it's now a dark grey sky & looking like rain!! Oh well, it can have another rinse!! I'll put another wash on & hope the weather sorts itself out!!

Then I'm going for a walk to the village in a bit to post a 'tracked' letter.

I think then a declutter of the spare room that's had a lot of stuff thrown in it this past fortnight.

Feeling very sad about the Queen, I'll watch a bit more footage today (loving seeing the old footage)

mmaybe some rivalry searching, but unlikely any actual knitting/crochet.

then I think I'll try to find a good film to watch tonight.

super exciting I know. 🙄

I too love a weekend what are you doing thread!!

I’m still in bed with a cup of tea - washing is on and will be hung out as todays looking bright and breezy here - no rain hopefully!

I need to do cleaning and tidying and general housework but last night I started a jigsaw so the housework may take a back seat.

I also need to go for a walk so may do that - I’m challenging myself to get 10,000 steps a day so need to not let myself down!

Also need to buy eggs so I can bake tomorrow and make Sunday pancakes!

happy Saturday everyone!!

thesunwillout · 10/09/2022 09:19

Long awaited day of sunshine here in Devon.
Equals much planned laundry day.
Sitting in the garden waiting for it to spin.
Have offspring home from uni town for a week so looking forward to the company and will probably use some petrol and go out to nearest big town for mooch.

theoriginalteletubby · 10/09/2022 09:19

Just had a bacon sandwich, yoga at 11am and then I need to go shopping, I need some new makeup (have run out of foundation) and a new black dress as I’m required to go to formal HMQ related things over the next week, my existing black dress is a bit snug!

losingit31 · 10/09/2022 09:20

My car has gone in for a service and is being picked up and dropped off, so zero effort on my part.

DH is mooching.

I am on here when I still have about 3000 words left to write of my doctoral assignment, which I aim to do three sections of this weekend and then write the conclusion and abstract by Tuesday to submit my draft on Wednesday. To be fair, I am also eating my breakfast at the same time so I'm going back to it now, honest!

I have a cross stitch that's close to finished and a jigsaw waiting for me when I have some free time again.

teddybearsbear · 10/09/2022 09:21

Laying in bed drinking coffee and mumsneting

I need to do a bit of work on the computer later and ds1 has a party

Pretty chilled out day might go for a walk if the weather holds

It's feeling very autumnal all of a sudden

Devo1818 · 10/09/2022 09:24

Very moochy day here for us too! I'm a teacher so it has been first week back for me and both dc. DH is building some book shelves, house needs a proper going over and we are going to pop to Supermarket in a couple of hours. Then this afternoon DH is going to bake a cake with DC and then we'll make a risotto for dinner, watch Stranger Things when the kids are in bed with a glass of wine. I love Saturdays

felulageller · 10/09/2022 09:38

On my second mug of tea.
Had some museli this morning. Not tried it for decades but have a plan to vary my diet more and try new things. (I'm autistic so find change difficult)

The house desperately needs a spring (autumn!) Clean.

Have some bags to take to the charity shop.

Then blue bin recycling will need to be driven to the centre as the communal bins have all been full for weeks.

I've got clothes I've bought from charity shops I've to try on to see if they fit. If they don't, re-donate them, if they do, go in the already full laundry basket to get that charity smell out.

Still haven't heard from DC's. They will just chill/ homework/ watch screens. Will try to get them to park.

UsernameIsDeadToMe · 10/09/2022 09:40

Quiet one - bliss.

Watching BBC1, drinking coffee this morning, washing is on, eldest playing Minecraft, youngest at her tennis lesson.

Probably a day of squaring up and pottering, I’ll take the kids for a good walk along the seafront later on. Then an evening of sewing and wine.

I love a Saturday.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/09/2022 09:42

We're off to my sister in laws for a night as nephews birthday.
