I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, listening to the breeze & watching the drizzley rain through the windows.

I could do with a nip to town but really cba to go. I think a moochy day of washing, tidying, and crochet is on the cards. I need to do a little bit of Rainbows and Guides prep for Tuesday too.

The girls are tired after their first week back to school & dd1's spent a lot of time organising revision cards/notes this week (GCSE's this year!) I expect they'll watch more Gilmore Girls, & at some point they wanted to make sugar mice so the mould is out ready for them.

We're having diy pizzas for tea, dd2 wants to make them 😋 & then tonight will be more not doing much...probably the food channel on tv for me & more crochet.

What about all of you? 🙂

Love these threads! I'm on cup of tea number 2, I drank the first in bed after getting up to let the dogs out for a wee. I'm currently pottering about, just fed dogs breakfast and woke up DD11. DS9 was up before me and made breakfast, let the hens out and emptied the dishwasher so he's obviously after some extra pocket money this weekend!

I need to have a shower in a minute. DH is still in bed. We are sorting out the workshop today, putting some workbenches in and tracking down tools so it's all ready and set up for my craft business which I restarted recently. Later I've got some craft fairs to book and I need to order some books for my MA which I start next week. I need to make a crumble or pie as well as I stewed some rhubarb yesterday and it's been stirring in the fridge making me feel guilty!
Later we will have tea and watch a film with the DC. Once they've gone to bed DH and I will curl up with a box set and the dogs.
One evening this weekend we need to burn a load of bits so we will probably sit outside with some marshmallows.

Need to do a small food shop, and get some meat out the freezer for tomorrow. There are lots of museums open for free near us this weekend for heritage weekend so we might pop down to one tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll do the obligatory Sunday roast and DH will call his mum. DD has a telephone appointment with the well-being lady at 1pm tomorrow.

OH is at work, I'm sat in the kitchen having a late breakfast with the front door open keeping an eye on the hound who is peoplewatching.
Will be making a nice Quorn, mushroom & vegetable bake for dinner.
Later I will be taking the hound for a lovely walk across the hills.

FayeGovan · 10/09/2022 09:50

Shadows, why dont you let dd sleep later instead of waking her up?

StressfulBedtimes · 10/09/2022 09:53

I love these threads 🙂

I have a huge order to pick up from the chemist this morning, need to drop DDs phone off to be fixed (she smashed the screen 🙄) then the car is going in for its MOT
Then just a chilled one of uniform washing, drinking lots of tea and maybe watching a film this afternoon, I also have a jigsaw on the go
The children are all vile after their first week back at school (especially the little one; it was her first week ever so she’s exhausted) so just going to chill this weekend
Pasta & meatballs for tea

ShadowsShadowsShadows · 10/09/2022 10:00

@FayeGovan she asked to be woken up this morning. She has SEN and some disabilities so wakes up at about 6/7am and plays quietly. I go in and "wake her up" at a time we have agreed (diff time for week days and weekends) and she then gets dressed and comes down for breakfast. If I didn't go in and give her the cue that it was time to do her morning routine she would sit playing on the floor until lunch time and ignore her own hunger/thirst cues.

She hates being "different" so this works well for her as it means she doesn't miss out on breakfast and to anyone staying over or when I'm chatting to friends I can just say "I woke DD up at x" and they don't need to know all the details.

LadyCampanulaTottington · 10/09/2022 10:06

I’ve just had my second cup of tea, sitting in the kitchen. I’m starting a sewing project this afternoon, my first one ever! I picked easy cushion covers to start. Cats are fed and have vacated the house for the day.

DH is doing the laundry and we’ll be heading out soon to the supermarket for a few bits for this evening. We both eat Keto so we’re thinking of steak Diane for dinner.

Tonight we’ll watch a film and I’ll be making a dent in my latest crochet project that has seriously been neglected over the last two weeks.

XmasElf10 · 10/09/2022 10:11

I had a quiet coffee in bed and then took doggo up the river. Now having second coffee and an almond croissant (very yummy!)
DD is with her dad this weekend, DP is away doing something else and I am all alone - bliss!!

Going yo pop a wash on and then go clean out the caravan for selling. Might take the new camper for a spin and another dog walk this afternoon. I also have a jigsaw calling my name… rock and roll baby!!

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 10/09/2022 10:14

I’m having a lazy day, DDog and I had a lovely walk earlier now I’m having a coffee and enjoying rice cakes with avocado 🥑 whilst watching The Proclamation of King Charles 111.
Dh is supposed to be painting cupboard doors but he’s messing about in his shed, DDog is asleep.
All very peaceful.
I will start knitting an Aran jacket for my great niece shortly.

WhoisthisBoobadude · 10/09/2022 10:18

Sat watching Cbeeies ‘The tortoise and the hare’ with Dd, 4, with a cup of mint tea..well, she’s half watching it and half running around chasing the dog 🙄
Dh working this morning, doesn’t usually on a Saturday.
We’ll do a food shop in a bit, get Dd a new snack box and water bottle for starting pre school. Later we’ll put the pool down and all go to the beach for a picnic and to see the sunset.

IchbineinBerlinerin · 10/09/2022 10:19

Sounds like a lovely day op, enjoy!

I've been up since 5:30 💤 19 weeks pregnant, needed a pee and couldn't get back to sleep! DS woke up at his usual 6:30, husband heard us and got up. We had breakfast together, we've spent the morning chilling and chatting. Now we have a street festival / gala type thing along our main Street of our town (not in the UK) so we're going to head out in the rain and walk through it. The fire station are showing off their fire engines and DS (2 years old) will love it. Grab some lunch from one of the vendors, see what else there is to do/look at. Come back, have some chill time then dinner together, get DS ready for bed then delayed anniversary celebrations for me and DH...we have posh frozen pizza, Ben and Jerry's and going to watch a film!

Passanotherjaffacake · 10/09/2022 10:20

Off to see MIL. Wish me luck! Have baby, DD, DH and DDog all cramped up in the car. DDog is in my footwell with his nose resting on my foot (major pins and needles but totally unreasonable to move him right? 😂

Simonjt · 10/09/2022 10:23

I’ve been on my morning run, there were already lots of people at buckingham palace before 7am.

No rugby today, we’re going to the transport museum later and then we’ll maybe stay out for lunch. The first week back at school hasn’t been great, so we’re not planning much apart from that as we’re all a bit knackered and stressed.

Later tonight we’re going to catch up on rings of power and the thrones series.

EsmeeMerlin · 10/09/2022 10:23

It's my eldest son's birthday today so we are currently travelling into London to meet some friends, we have tickets to back to the future and dinner. Also planning on taking him the m&m and Lego store first.

Chelsea26 · 10/09/2022 10:33

DP has had to go into work today because of HMQ so just me here with the four kids.

Having a lazy morning but need to take the dog for a walk in a minute. More coffee needed first though.

My oldest friend (I’ve known her since our first day of school 39 years ago!), her husband and their three kids are coming over this afternoon. It’s sunny here for now so they might get a little last bit of pool action before it is closed for the winter…

Sausage, chips and beans for the kids for dinner and chicken and chorizo paella for the grown ups.

Adversity · 10/09/2022 10:37

I’m driving to the next county over to meet a very dear friend I used to work with. We are hiking round a really lovely country park and having a picnic. We haven’t worked together for 20 years but meet up once or twice a year.

Watching a film later with DH, he has just got back yesterday late last night from a funeral. Think we will have a take away tonight.

louderthan · 10/09/2022 10:45

Nice thread 😊
I have the house to myself this weekend so I'm still lazing in pyjamas. Got up earlier to feed the cat and put a load of washing on, now waiting for my McDonald's breakfast!
Will probably have a faff day today, cleaning and tidying up a bit, will go and get a coffee and sit in the park this afternoon.
Then tonight I am off to a party, can't be too late/pissed tho as I have three horses to exercise tomorrow...
Have Monday and Tuesday off work so am planning a relaxing couple of days! I work at a university so it's the calm before the storm...!

Auntieobem · 10/09/2022 10:47

Into town to pick up a few things for dd, then taking her to uni a day early and staying over because the queen's cortege will cause traffic chaos tomorrow.

MaryJoLisa · 10/09/2022 10:58

I was intending to head into town - been a long week so was going to treat myself to an hour or two browsing books then dinner. However it will be heaving, so either I roll with that and maybe add in a walk down the Mall or plan B is some cleaning, a bit of gardening and a box set.

Natsku · 10/09/2022 10:58

Did the ironing this morning then took DS out for a bike ride on his balance bike (now he's finally got the hang of it) to the shop and back. Stopped to say hello to a massive fluffy dog called Hymy (Smile) which is such a lovely name.

DD is at circus school, will be on her way home soon and maybe we'll watch some TV this afternoon while OH makes dinner for a change.

I need to hang the washing now and then make my lunch. Nothing else to do today, just relax.

PatientlyWaiting21 · 10/09/2022 11:22

I’ve been up and out a hike with our dog, fed our baby, cleared up the driveway from all the shit that’s blown I’m off the fields.

just scoffed breakfast, time for a shower and then all head out later.
Tea is spag bols, made last night so it’ll just need reheated, Chuck some pasta on and pour a glass of wine!

InFiveMins · 10/09/2022 11:58

Love these threads 😊We got up around 9, DP is doing some odd jobs and I've spent an hour or so batch cooking. I always try and batch cook at the weekend if I can, usually on a Sunday but we are out all day tomorrow visiting family so making the most of the quiet day today to cook instead.

Will grab a shower shortly and then planning on reading outside for an hour or so, will then catch up on some chores before making chicken fajitas for tea and having a quiet night in front of the TV.

confusedofengland · 10/09/2022 12:05

Working all day & it is so quiet 😭 Think I might read my book this afternoon!

Crikeyalmighty · 10/09/2022 12:11

On a long weekend break in Berlin- been lots of times before- unkown to me , we timed it well to escape Windsor!

iklboo · 10/09/2022 12:15
