??? They've been around for years

Fladdermus · 09/09/2022 19:36

Have coffee bags been mean to you OP?

Housewife2010 · 09/09/2022 19:38

Coffee bags are nothing new. I remember trying them in the early 80s. We only bought them once. In the early 90s we also tried instant tea which came with whitener. There was also a sweetened version. Again, we didn't rebuy.

abovedecknotbelow · 09/09/2022 19:38

They're disgusting.

ApolloandDaphne · 09/09/2022 19:39

They are horrible.

Phineyj · 09/09/2022 19:40

I love them!

Brasschamberstick · 09/09/2022 19:40

The Ad...Coffee bags..why didn't I think of this before?!” ..because they're FUCKING POINTLESS!

Tea bags well ok. Coffee...just why?

My ds2 gets his from cannonball coffee, they are really nice.

MarmiteCoriander · 09/09/2022 19:43

I used them 20yrs as a treat when I worked night shifts. They were 100% better than the shitty, hospital, instant coffee back then. I haven't tried them since then though.

Hardbackwriter · 09/09/2022 19:46

I don't get why they're stupider than tea bags? I use them at work since someone nicked my aeropress. I wouldn't use them at home where I have a proper coffee maker but in a situation where it's coffee bags or instant they're better by a long way.

Lunde · 09/09/2022 19:46

My mum used them in the 1970s when she had people over for dinner - along with that multi-coloured sugar that looked like jewels!

CaramelTwirl · 09/09/2022 19:47

I quite like them. I'm not a coffee wanker though.

torquewench · 09/09/2022 19:48

I like them. They taste nice. I have them at work because instant coffee tastes like shite.

That advert is annoying because the company DID think of it before about 20 years ago. Do they really think our memory is that bad Hmm

Isonthecase · 09/09/2022 19:50

I love them! So handy when you have a specific type of coffee bean in the machine and need to make a caff/decaff for visitors and they last ages.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/09/2022 19:52

The ad. 'Why didn't we think of this before??' we did, in the early 70s. And they were rank.

OperaStation · 09/09/2022 19:52

Why are tea bags ok but coffee bags are not?

Runningintolife · 09/09/2022 19:58

I like the ones I get more than cafetiere coffee but less than mokka pot coffee. My mokka pot broke.

Me too, I like them, currently using M&S Italian ones

Hoolihan · 09/09/2022 20:01

I think they're really good! For work, camping, holidays, hangovers. Any time you can't be arsed with a cafetiere basically.

MadeWithCare · 09/09/2022 20:04

I haven't tried them but surely, if they're filled with decent coffee, you're effectively just making filter coffee?

saraclara · 09/09/2022 20:04

I've rediscovered them. I have to go to my organisation's office once a week. The only hot drink option is an urn and a tin of instant coffee downstairs in the building that houses our office. So I keep coffee bags in my handbag. They're infinitely better than instant, even if they don't write compare to 'proper' coffee.

saraclara · 09/09/2022 20:06

And yes, they're existed since I was a teenager. Which is five decades ago. Lyons used to do them. But I buy the hot lava java ones.

girlmom21 · 09/09/2022 20:06

Coffee bags are good in an office or house share or communal space where knobheads stir their coffee then put the spoon back in the coffee pot.

Galarunner · 09/09/2022 20:13

I use them when I am going on light weight camping trips
