Help me find this crime drama!

I'm ill and pregnant at the moment and I just want to snuggle on the sofa with something to watch!

This drama I vaguely remember is a UK one where the perpetrator turns out to be a member of the police investigative team. I think it's based on a true story, but not sure.

It's a bit like Manhunt from memory.

I have googled and googled and gone through the 'more like this option' on the tv but I cannot find it! It's not Above Suspicion or Line Of Duty or an episodic one like Shetland or Vera.

I'd be so grateful if someone has any clue what it could be!

Messiah? But that’s not based on a true story

thenightsky · 25/08/2022 16:14

How many years old are you talking?

Ishacoco · 25/08/2022 16:25

Within the last 5-10 definitely.

No, not that one. Thanks anyway!

Line of duty was the only one that came to mind.
Have also tried to Google and come up with nothing helpful.

Usernameisgone · 25/08/2022 16:28

Line of Duty

skippy67 · 25/08/2022 16:29

Between the lines?

Ishacoco · 25/08/2022 16:40

No, neither of those, but thank you!

It's driving me mad!

Cracker?

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 25/08/2022 16:43

No offence?

No offence?

Even if it’s not. Highly recommend it. It’s fucking brill

GreenEggsAndBabycham · 25/08/2022 16:44

No Offence, I reckon. Not quite a member of the investigative team but close enough that you could remember it as such!

AConvivialHost · 25/08/2022 16:59

Bloodlands?

theresaratinthekitchen · 25/08/2022 17:00

Wasn't there a programme like 24 hours in police custody or something like that where it turned out one of the policeman on the case was responsible?

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 25/08/2022 17:03

@Blondeshavemorefun - this is your area of expertise!

Saucery · 25/08/2022 17:04

Informer?

BluTangClan · 25/08/2022 17:10

Didn't 'Happy Valley' (series 2?) have a story line like that?

REP22 · 25/08/2022 17:13

There was a storyline in Cracker (I think the second/third series) where the villain was one of the Police team.

Equiphant · 25/08/2022 17:19

It is a personal bugbear of mine that EVERY SINGLE episodic whodunnit runs this storyline at some point (or at least accuse the detective/team). It’s such lazy writing. Sorry, not much help, but i sympathise with how hard it must be to find one individual.

Pixiedust1234 · 25/08/2022 17:21

Dexter. He was the forensics guy.

unvillage · 25/08/2022 17:21

Criminal UK had something like this happen

ExplodingCarrots · 25/08/2022 17:23

Is it Safe on Netflix ?

blackberrybat · 25/08/2022 17:24

The Tunnel? Unfotgotten?I have a vague idea that might have been part of the storyline in both of those but not 100% sure

SiobhanSharpe · 25/08/2022 17:25

It may not be Criminal UK but I just wanted to say that series is really well worth watching. They are stand alone episodes.
