Help me find this crime drama!

I'm ill and pregnant at the moment and I just want to snuggle on the sofa with something to watch!

This drama I vaguely remember is a UK one where the perpetrator turns out to be a member of the police investigative team. I think it's based on a true story, but not sure.

It's a bit like Manhunt from memory.

I have googled and googled and gone through the 'more like this option' on the tv but I cannot find it! It's not Above Suspicion or Line Of Duty or an episodic one like Shetland or Vera.

I'd be so grateful if someone has any clue what it could be!

Series 2 of Happy Valley? The detective committed the murder and sexual offences that he was investigating.

It wasn't an episode in a series. I'm going to investigate The Stranger! We moved recently and haven't got around to setting up the TV in the second sitting room so I'm going to attempt to do that today so I can sit and search in peace 😂

The reason the policeman got away with the crimes is because he wore a wet suit? The neoprene fabric stopped dna being dropped .... is that jogging any bells? ...

I know you said UK but could it be the film ‘Now you see me’?
