Help me find this crime drama!

I'm ill and pregnant at the moment and I just want to snuggle on the sofa with something to watch!

This drama I vaguely remember is a UK one where the perpetrator turns out to be a member of the police investigative team. I think it's based on a true story, but not sure.

It's a bit like Manhunt from memory.

I have googled and googled and gone through the 'more like this option' on the tv but I cannot find it! It's not Above Suspicion or Line Of Duty or an episodic one like Shetland or Vera.

I'd be so grateful if someone has any clue what it could be!

I think it was a rape/murder, possibly a few. It was a stand-alone drama, one where they can't understand how the perpetrator is always one step ahead and then suddenly realise it must be someone on their team.

I honestly can't remember.

Unforgotten? Not stand alone though but I'm sure they had a plot like that in one of the series.

Because I remember who 'did it'

The Stranger? I'm sure the baddie was a police man.

There's a film with that storyline. (probably several tbf!) and I was convinced it was Sandra Bullock and Murder By Numbers. I settled in to watch it the other day and it was a completely different film to what I thought I was going to watch!

Just following in the hope someone suggests the film I actually wanted to see...

I remember two people looking at a tv in the incident room and you see the dawning clarity on the face of one as they realise what's happening. Not v helpful I know!

It does sound like The Stanger. The way they reveal be worked for the police was excellent.
