We've worked our way through the usual and now looking for some recommendations please.

Yep really something gripping and easy to get into

Didn't like Succession. Bank Robbers was boring. Done Ozark etc. don't like sci fi or vampires

Any suggestions gratefully received

You. Dead to me. Unbelievable. Maid. Superstore. Good girls.

Sittingonthefence83 · 22/08/2022 15:44

The Last Kingdom

TheBatwoman · 22/08/2022 15:46

Agree with PP, Good girls and Dead to Me were both good. I really enjoyed both. Schitt’s Creek and The Good Place are good if you want comedies.

PeloAddict · 22/08/2022 15:54

Red rose
The secrets she keeps

Both on iPlayer if you have that

HardRockOwl · 22/08/2022 16:03

I always thought that schitts creek was for teens? Hmm could be a contender

I'm a big K-drama fan, although it's a bit tricky to watch casually, as you have to keep an eye on the subtitles (unless ,of course, you speak / comprehend very good Korean).

My personal recent favourites being The Uncanny Counters, Hotel Del Luna, Business Proposal and Sell My Haunted House.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 22/08/2022 16:09

I loved Heartstopper.
DH hated it.

Namechanger1002 · 22/08/2022 16:09

The Outlaws on iPlayer is very good

Delphigirl · 22/08/2022 16:14

Schitts creek is absolutely the best, most uplifting, fiunniest and most stylish thing on tv for years. Decades. You won’t regret it!

Hbh17 · 22/08/2022 16:19

It's a bit melodramatic, but I really liked " The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem" - Michael Aloni is excellent. My tip would be to go into settings & ensure you watch it in original Hebrew with English subtitles, but you can have it dubbed into English if you want.

lillipilli · 22/08/2022 16:23

Good thrilles : Sinner, unbelievable, manhunt for unabomber, quicksand, Wisting,

other: took a while to get into but loved Glow, Quiz on itv. Good horror (I am not into super scary horror and could tolerate these and really enjoyed these) /
mystery: the haunting of Bly manor, midnight mass, Archive 81.

schitts creek is a great comedy 👍

we haven’t watched much on Netflix recently, seems like Apple / Disney have more stuff we enjoyed, like
Dropout, Dopesick, Essex Serpent, Slow Horses.

TheBatwoman · 22/08/2022 16:33

Yeah agree about Good Girls OP, but did enjoy it. Schitt’s place is my second fave comedy on Netflix (after The Good Place). It was a bit of a slow burn for me, but well worth a watch.

glamourousindierockandroll · 22/08/2022 16:35

We loved 'Dark'.

Defo not just for teens. Takes a bit of getting in to but it's well worth sticking with.

Andthenshetripped · 22/08/2022 16:49

The girl in the mirror and good morning, verôinca

KerryO87x · 22/08/2022 16:50

I also vote Schitts Creek loved it.
I've just finished virgin river which is a nice easy watch

Non Netflix- handmaids tale best series I've watched

MuffinMcLayLikeABundleOfHay · 22/08/2022 16:52

Schitts Creek is fantastic but the first episode is not good so make sure you watch the second one as well before you judge it.

I love Bonus Family.

TheBatwoman · 22/08/2022 16:54

Also really enjoyed The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window - great dark comedy. Inventing Anna was a good watch as well.

AmyandPhilipfan · 22/08/2022 16:57

I've recently really enjoyed Hard Cell (with Catherine Tate playing loads of characters) and Never Have I Ever - which is a teen drama but I still really enjoyed it.

listsandbudgets · 22/08/2022 17:01

Queens Gambit was superb.

I'm watching Sand Man at the moment. I thought I'd hate it as it's not my normal sort of thing but I'm captivated.

I love The Good Place if you've not seen it, it's certainly worth a try.
